As many of you know, on September 12, 2006, I gave birth to our fourth son, Gabriel. He was stillborn. Our son, riley, also spent a good deal of time in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) when he was born, along with having 5 major surgeries before he was 2 years old. We've spent a lot of time in the hospital and we've seen so many families in similar siturations that are in need. It was because of that need, that the Granny Square Project was born.

I discovered the other day, that the NICU in our area was in the need of items to help keep the babies warm, as well as a great need for items to send home with the famililes that can't afford to purchase the things their babies need. Hats are really important for all infants, because they can loose so much heat through their heads. Keeping the babies warm is important, but even more important for thoese that are premature or critically ill. So, I decided to see how many hats I can collect through my blog and community. Our local NICU sees on average 1,800 - 2, 000 babies each year.

Hats 'N' Hearts Marathon

Goal - to collect 2,000 preemie and infant hats during the Month of February, 2007

The marathon will benefit Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco Texas.

The marathon will run from February 1 - 28, 2007

Items Need:

Preemie Hats in all sizes (Mostly Large/Medium sized, but a few micro)
Newborn Hats
Hats can be handmade or purchased and can be knit, crochet, fleece, etc.
While this marathon is focusing on hats, you are welcome to donate other items as well, as the hosital is constantly in need for booties, sweaters, clothing, blankets, and burial gowns.

For every hat or item donated, you will be entered to win a crocheted Granny Square Afghan!

This afghan has been donated to this marathon by the members of the Granny Square Project. Thank you all so much ladies!! Donations must be post marked by February 28, 2007 to be entered. The drawing for the afghan will be held on March 15, 2007.

Susan, I need your help. I put the two swap buttons on there,

Can you tell me what closing tag I left out?

Thats what I thought, but its in there.

I have it under a new listing that is tables.....
something I am just now learning about. I bet I haven't closed
the tags under that

I thought maybe the </a> tag, but if it's there, then maybe you need to close your table. You can try </tr> or </td> Hope that helps!
