people often forget the real reason for christmas, but as we celebrate the birth of jesus let us all remember what he wishes for us his children to do, be kind to one another, if you see someone who needs help and you can then do it, not for the thanks or any glory or anything but just because. i think we should do a my good deed for the day posting whatcha think, then people will know how easy it is to help someone, can be as easy as holding a door open for someone, or giving the homeless guy on the corner something to eat(i won't give money because alot of them drink it away but i will go and get them some food) so what do ya all think? think it would be something anyone besides me is intrested in
let me know alright? hugs |

| its a good idea Vicki but I do mine quietly... pray for whoever is going to recieve what I am knitting since most of my things are for other people, and I do little things like you said holding a door, picking up the trash from other people in the street/yard, even wipe the tables & chairs at the coffee shop before I leave on Thur nite since they close at 9 and they have a lot to do. The owner gave me a free drink card and I gave it back & told her your workers are so friendly and nice and when I am up to it & can this is just a bit of appreciation. She also gave me a free drink card when I took her & her husband some shortbread... I took her aside & quietly told her I appreciate the offer - handed her the card and said with a smile you really need to learn how to accept a gift that is freely given. I told her I appreciate the place I now have to go to once a wk (or sometimes more) and I don't give to get something in return. I want you all to know I realllllllly could have used those free drink cards..but.. so far I have been able to work my one nite a wk out (at the coffee shop to knit for 3 hrs & visit with people) into my budget. I love giving but long ago I learned even the very small things we do are very good for us. |
