Ok, here's a little fun poll!  I was thinking about this and wondered what the rest of you creative maniacs thought.  Please vote!  And tell me why you think one or the other.

a person who has crocheted for yrs is fast....
a person who has knit          for yrs is fast....
I grew up around both - but knitted sweaters, knitted lace etc and done fast..... hummmm
to me I would be a very slow crocheter as I do very very little of it. I can knit fairly fast when I am in the mood or really in the knitting groove.
so I guess I just have to obstain as far as a vote.  I do think knitting is lighter and     'to me' in a lot of way prettier than crochet. But I love the things you ladies do .....

Crochet is faster then knit for me..
But I'm getting faster at knitting.
I can knit and not pay as much attention to what I'm doing as to crochet I need to watch were the hook goes..
But I think I get things done faster (like a baby blanket) crocheting..

I have crocheted for 30 years now and of course it would be faster
to me.
I can see where the two would have their advantages over the other
on speed. The one thing right now that I see being faster...crochet...
is the fact that when you make a mistake, you can just pull out right back to that mistake. When I make a mistake with the knitting....using a lifeline... I have to pull out all the way back to the row with the lifeline and that may go back futher than where I had made my mistake.

This is where I slow down when knitting. It is sooo much faster to go back in crochet to the actual goof and correct and go forward.

I think crochet is much faster even if I don't have to pull out the knit. Just learn
to twist the hook and you can fly with crochet
