Half the month has gone by already.
The stores have back to school stuff in the aisles.
I hope fall gets here quick. We have had over a month of 100 and over degrees here. Ready for a break!!!!
I guess I still have a couple of months to go..
Anyhoo, Whats everybody doing this week??
Me-
Working on my second Zebra sock.. Going alot slower then the first one.
Mr. Monkey ( Sock Monkey )is getting his head. Then it's on to his arms and tail. Using sock yarn that's black and white self- striping. Then just need to find a color in my stash for his hat and scarf..
And Baby Hat and socks in Pink self-striping yarn. I don't know why but I have alot of fingerweight yarn in my stash.

Hi Miss Kitty. For me I am knitting a hat. Just more knitting practice for me. I did get some pretty spring colors of cotton for dish clothes for my neighbor for Christmas. The book I have has garden things like frogs, the sun, tulips, birds. She really loves to work in her garden. They are knit patterns too. I have contentintal knitting down and am happy about it. No crochet for me right now. For some reason my mind is in a knit mode.
I can't wait to see your monkey and love your zebra sock. Hugs. |

Miss Kitty, am glad the zebra is getting a mate, and the monkey, his head!
PT62, what kind of a hat is it?
I am working on copying my mother's potholders. Ought to be working on those lap robes, too. It's new to me to have make something exactly the same number of stitches and size as another piece. That took many starts. My mother's work is so flawless, it takes some courage to try to copy anything she's done. And it's only a worsted weight potholder....
Yes, it's terribly hot. Miss Kitty, I do like that desert drawing. It fits. |

It's hot here, too.
I have been just knitting dishcloths (I am in knit mode, too; PhoenixTears62). Slowly trying to work on finishing a shrug when I feel like working on it.
I hurt my hand today (I have been cleaning a lot lately... long story). So I might have to switch back to crocheting. It doesn't hurt my hand like knitting does. Plus, I cut my pinky finger on the steel grater we just got. I put a band-aid on it, but it's right on the joint and hurts to bend it. I'm such a baby.
Oh, I meant to say I am also making cards lately. (One of my other gazillion hobbies...)

| Miss Kitty glad the sock is going well. It has been hot as blazes here. I have been working over time. They caught me in a moment of weakness. Pt62 and serena and tina I am working on this knitted poncho. I am slow but it is going good. I need to start x-mas gifts.Tina keep one of those antibiotic ointments on the knuckle it will heal faster and hurt less. |

Tina, I'm sorry your hands are hurt. Graters are tricky.
Anoramaxsis, I agree about it being hot as blazes. Hope your poncho is going well. |

anoramaxsis, I put some calendula ointment on it. I went to the store and got some special band-aids for knuckles. They're a little better. My six year old found them for me. He's my little buddy. I told him I will have to stop feeding him, so he won't grow anymore and will stay just the way he is. I can't wait to see your poncho when it is done. I have never tried knitting a poncho. I have crocheted a few.
Serena, I kept telling my son, 'This is very, very sharp, you have to be really careful.' (He wanted to help/do it) Then I end up cutting myself.

Glad to hear everybody is working hard.
I got my head put on Mr. Monkey and working on his arms..
Didn't work on my sock yesterday so need to put a couple of rows on today. I like the socks you would think that would keep me motivated enough to get them done.
PT62~Glad to hear you are knitting. And Contentinal Knitting to boot. I just can't get my tension right on the purls. I was getting rows that slanted different (like //////) On my socks and my purl rows were always so tight. Found out that I was wrapping my yarn around the needle clockwise instead of counter -clockwise. I'm watching myself on how I wrap my needle now..
Serena ~ can't wait to see a pic of your potholders. They sound like they will be pretty.
Mom w/a Motif ~ I'm glad we are getting more knitters here at Mania.. Sorry about your cut. That's like me saying be careful you don't drop it. Then I end up dropping it..
Anoramaxis ~ I'm not a fast knitter either.
Guess what we have a 30% chance of tomorrow and Saturday thur next week only in the 90's. Cold front moving in!!!!!!!! Hope it does.. |

I am working on a knitted dishcloth in a simple lace pattern called Tulip Lace I got off of Ravelry. I am still working on the neck warmer, but it is slow going because it is K1P1 over and over- boring. I finished the turquoise bracelet, need to take a pic. I have so many iatems I want to make, just not enough time to do them all.
It is hot here too. Over 100 according to my thermometer. Miss Kitty I hope you all get some rain. I water my garden every night, but it is looking pretty wilted.
