Who would like to join us in making a Scarf or Shawl???
Christmas is coming!!!!
It's Easy and good for you Novice Knitters!!!
Waspy Scarf (Shawl)
100g. sock or fingering yarn.
Size 9 needles.
Cast on 36 (72 Shawl) very loosely.
Pattern Rows: sl1 kw, *k2tog,yo rep* to last st k1.
Repeat this row untill lengh desired, loosely bind off..
Okay some of you novice knitters are asking what is sl1 kw???
All it is, is just insert the right-hand needle into the first loop on the left-hand needle, as if you were going to knit; slip the stitch on to the right-hand needle.
k2tog- Knit 2 together is the simpliest and most common way to decrease stitches. As the name implies, you are knitting two stitches together. This stitch causes a decrease that leans to the right.
yo- is just an increase.. To yarn over when knitting, get ready to knit the next stitch, but don't insert the right-hand needle into the loop on the left-hand needle. Wrap the yarn over the needle. The needle now has an extra loop on it..
Continue knitting the row as usual( the next 2 stitches). On the next row, when you knit into the extra loop, the hole will appear..
You are creating an extra stitch and a lacy hole...
Easy way to Cast on loosely use both needles together, then cast on==
So Who would like to join us???
I'm sorry Ladies I forgot to add my partners LadyHhere (provided the pattern)and Mamahooks.
So, If you run into any trouble or have questions just ask one of us.

Progress or lack of progress is more like it. I
started on the scarf I casted on, then I did about 3"
on the scarf and realized that I had goofed. I
had stopped in the middle of working the scarf. When
I picked it up I started knitting again and I reworked
the same side. So I added an extra row without
realizing it. Since I had to frog it and I am new to
knitting I decided to start from the beginning again.
So I am going to use my knitting markers this time
and make sure I pay more attention. :smt042 Ah,
the joy of frogging! :smt081
I started over around 1pm today. I currently have about 2"
or approximately 6 rows done. I know that is not very much.
I just haven't had very much time to work on it today, better
luck tomorrow.
I will post pictures of how much I have by Tuesday evening. |

| haahaha maybe it is too easy I am now over half down with a green one I'm making for a gift. Also have finished the arms for the hoodie so tomorrow will sew the arms to the body then pick up sts to do the hood, then a drawstring & the velcro closing & waaaa laaaa ( it still looks too big for Sophia tho. with all the swaps & all I think we will save more kal's till the first of the yr - to help with the shut in time many of us have - what cha all think? |

Ok, I just picked this up tonight cuz I thought it woudl be easy. I've knitted socks before, made a baby bolero and a cable bag and also a cable mock shell. I figured this would be a cinch project, mindless, ya know.
Ummmm, I was wrong!!!
As the pattern is written, if working with fingering wt/sock yarn and size 9 needles, this is a pain in the BEHIND!!!!!! I'm so frustrated with it and I'm only 4 rows into it.
Does anyone have a picture of this as it is written with the fingering weight yarn and all? I'd like to see how it comes out. Cuz mine doesn't look like much of anything right now.
the way the k2tog and yo is, on the next row, it's so hard to k2tog cuz of how the yarn is positioned from the yo previously. I'm just so frustrated with it.
anyone else? |

Ok, well mine looks like it should, but i'm using variegated. BAD idea! Makes it look messy and icky and yucky. I'm gonna frog it I think. Not a big fan of the pattern either. Oh well, i tried!! Can't wait to see others.
