see if this helps .....
100 g sock or fingering yarn ( I have done it with baby yarn, 4 ply what ever just use big needles <ya know more than what the yarn calls for>)
the basic patt is:
CO 36 sts very loosely
Patt row: S1 kw, *K2tog, yo rep to last st, K1
Repeat this row till approx 60" Bind off loosely.
(S1 kw is knit wise in other words like your going to knit it but just slip) <in the next row this will be the last stitch so it will be K>
now lets see if I can get a pic for you.... it really is easy I watch TV in the evening while I do it... oh rats I forgot how to do the picture

Yeah, i was doing the pattern right. It's just this darn sock yarn that is killing me. could be the needles too. Maybe need something pointier than my denises.
