Well, Kathy, you have been busy creating this new forum! Good luck in
drawing others to share in this worthy cause. However, in the goals for the
month, I would suggest sizes for the different items you want to make.
Also, if you want squares for donations or completed lapghans, etc.
I would be happy to assist in an ongoing project, but need some details
so I know what to make. Also, I would be happy to send some of the
supplies needed to connect things together.

Thank you Selena. I am in the process this evening of getting the
permission for some sites to place links on the forum back to their
patterns.
Susan has also volunteered as well. I wanted to let those here know
about what I want to start with so that I posted there in patterns....
just a start. Any squares above and beyond that will go into other
ghans and the Red Heart and the Caron (4-ply worsted weight acrylic)
should be fairly easy to find and they are so durable to.....and not high in cost
like some yarns are.
I was up on an all nighter getting the forum that far along. I did get to put
the bingo words up early.
LOL, guess you could tell from my post that I hadn't had any sleep.
I was in one of those slap happy funny moods

I am going to take a little nap and get back at it. Each day it should take on
more order and make for ease to understand.

The forum is not really the easiest place for this to be done at in the way
I would wish I could.
I am looking into a website this evening to that might do really good for it.

I have lots of goals but just am not skill like I should be in getting them
out there on a website. I wish I knew so much more than I do,
but I will just give it my best, it will fall into place..........I know it will.

Oops! I didn't read far enough on the charity site. I found the
patterns and am busy making 8" squares. I picked up a skein of the
off white, will see if it goes on sale so I can send more. I also like the
little smiley toys! I bought some bright yellow so I will attempt some
of those as well. So far, I have 7 squares done in mint, royal blue,
light blue. The pattern is easy and fast, so that is a good thing for me! LOL!
I bought a variety of colors so I could contribute to many areas for the
month of January. However, I am concentrating on squares, haven't thought
about scarves yet. Hope I am getting done what you want for this
month.

Now who's been busy

I have a members forum set up now at CrochetManiacsForCharity
just for all the volunteers to have so you can chat and share

Did you all see the toys patterns yet? They are so adorable.

Thank you all for being so caring.....these kids are gonna love it

I wish she had gotten Ginger for them, the kids would have really enjoyed her......
and the colt, that would have been a real treat
for them.

And thank you for the yarn donation to put them together, it is greatly
appreciated girl

These youngins are going to get so many hugs that we might just
smoother them if we're not careful, LOL.

Oh yea, on the squares, just remember to leave out the 10th, or last
round. I am going to be putting them together in a join as you go
when I do that round in the white

It is a very quick pattern and can
be done in such a rainbow of color, the little ones will look so cute wrapped
up in one

Yes,I left off the last round, so the measurement is 7 1/2 inches, not
8 as I originally stated. I had to use an F hook to get the gauge right,
instead of the G in the pattern. And I always thought I crocheted tight! LOL!
Oh, I did finish one of the smiley toy. It is about 4 to 5 inches across, and
is cute! I did it in an F hook, too. I'll post a pic later.

Hey lady's,
I was just on the phone with the Warren County Police Dept.
and they were going to come out today and pick up your donations to
take to BRASS.

Then while I was waiting for them to come, I got a call back from them.

Well, what they are wanting to do now is to send out what she called
a "Public Liaison ".
I am suppose to be getting a call now from them, they will be setting
up a time to come out to my house.
They work with the media I think she said

This is exciting! I don't have a clue what they do. I know she said something
about them making some pics of the donations that we are sending to
BRASS and such

I am gonna hide, LOL! ~~~~ NO PICS of this old woman please, LOL! ~~~~

This is what is going out on the first run..........

I will start back up joining the squares that are here (just a few)
and the new ones that just came in (from Vern)
and those still due to come in............
after the first of the year for the next group of things that we
will be sending out to BRASS next year.

((I noticed a couple of things missing................
I am looking for 1 scarf and 2 smiley face hand toys))
I have them stored in one of my tubs in my yarn room and
hubby will help me find them tonight.

Hey lady's & Gents, I got the awaited for phone call today from a gentleman named
"Alexander", He is the liaison, and he contacted BRASS for us.
BRASS is very excited about the donations you all have sent in

for them

I will be now getting a phone call from BRASS next week. He said
that they will set up a place and a time to meet and recieve the donations.

They have
to be very careful, and private for the protection of the
battered women and their children.

I will keep you posted.

I am still waiting to hear from BRASS.
I think I will call that man back tomorrow and see if they
will let me have the number to BRASS. It shouldn't hurt if I call them.
I think that would be OK, I called there last year but I have mis-placed
my phone number to them

Well, you all know me........I had no call yet
from BRASS, so I called them

I got to talk to the lady today at BRASS. Would you believe it,
they would prefer that a deputy come by may house to pick
them up....... DUH, we already knew that would probably be the
case. It is all out of safety precautions and I just hung up from
talking to the county sheriffs dept AGAIN!

They will for sure be out tomorrow afternoon (they said)
to pick up the donations.

LOL, we go around the world just to end up back
at square one
