Well I have made four little bags to send. Here are the pics:
I have added snaps to the flaps to close the bags and each have a strap to wear as a necklace. The black one I just made up the pattern and the others I got off the net. Oh, and I added beads to the pink and purple ones similar to the blue one.
So, I'll get these off in the mail this week to the lady in Denton that is heading this up. |

| Thanks for sharing. I am amazed at the talented people who are doing selfless things to make life better for others. The bags you made are fantastic. The colors are great. Where did you find the pattern for the blue one? What size are they? You are special and so is the lady doing this. You will be blessed! |

| Thanks everyone for the encouragement! The strap on the black bag is just ribbon I bought at HL and sewed on. The pink and purple one is from http://members.cox.net/sdsantan/bag.html and I'll have to go look for the blue one. |

They are fun to make Maxine! I saw on the USPS that the bags were delivered, so we'll see if she likes them and can use them for her camp project.
Some of the other contributions were some cute felted bags with bear pendants. Mine are not really Native American looking, but I figured girls would like them. They feel really good to rub with your fingers because the inside and outside of the bags are beaded. They are squishy and smooth at the same time. I don't know if that explanation is very good! |

Update, the bags have been delivered!
http://thiseclecticlife.com/2009/...medicine-bags-at-camp-sanguinity/
This is a portion of the email I received from Shelly:
YES...OH YES! I opened your package and sat down weeping at the beauty of them. They are exquisite! I see faces in my head from last year of beautiful teenage girls at the camp. One was possibly the most lovely young woman I've ever seen. Her eyes were large and liquid, and her head was bald---
If, God willing, she is at the camp this year, then one of your treasured bags will go to her!
Thank you so much for the time and the effort you took in making these. I am absolutely in awe of them.

| TXCL, how very dear. It's such a lovely feeling to know that what we give is so needed and appreciated. |

Yep, it does give you a boost to know something so simple can mean so much to others. You know those bags were not hard to do, it was something I was gonna do to practice something new anyhow. It didn't cost a bunch of money, it just took a little time and man, I am so glad I took that time to make and send those little bags. I will keep you updated what Shelly is going to come up with for next year, and maybe we can all join in that one.
Thanks for all the kind words about my projects!
