'All American' (Flag Afghan)Ok...so I got tired of waiting for my sis to send me the pics of the flag afghan I made for my nephew. When I was over there last week I took the liberty of taking pics of it myself with my camera!  I hope sis wasn't offended.
Here it is…BTW…the quilt you can kinda see beneath the afghan is one my mom made for him. As you can see, the flag afghan matched the colors of his room…it goes together well…don’t you think?

When I first picked crochet back up again, almost 4 years ago, this was the first large project I started up. (After only doing a handful of smaller projects.) I did not know gauge was important so I just happily crocheted along. When it came to putting it together I had to add a border to the star field to make it fit. So it's not perfect but I still liked how it turned out.
The only problem is that Andy wants one of these now. I'm not really up to making another one. Sewing all those stars together took so long!!! It will probably take me another 3 years to finish it!

Oh wow! Gina, that is a beautiful afghan! If it takes you three years to make one, your Dh will have forgotten all about it and you can surprise him!

That's a great idea!
I have to admit when I go to my nephew's house and see his afghan there on his bed, it makes me want one too. I really love that design. The stripes are so easy to do.
