BobbinsI found some really neat bobbins yesterday at the DFW Fiber Fest. The women from Stitch Elegance had these at their booth. I also bought some more handmade topped 0000 needles which I forgot to take pictures of, and a fish pendant kit. I'll try to get those on later. These make storage so much more compact. I am glad I found these for the beaded thread projects. You open them to string your thread and beads and then fold them back up. I really don't know how to explain it, but hopely the pics will show it.

That is so neat, I bet it makes working with beads a lot easier. and faster.
I am just now fixing to do my very first beading knit project.
I might try one of those bags next that you posted that you have done.
Are they easy to do? They are so pretty. Where do I get a pattern for them?

Hey Kathy, the bags are just knit stitch and you put a bead up right before you wrap for the stitch. I got a bead spinner for Christmas and that makes putting the beads on the thread faster. In fact without the bead spinner, I wouldn't hadn load hundreds of beads on the thread! LOL! The patterns I got from searching on the net and the black bag I made, I just made up the pattern. I got a hedgehog and a fish pattern at the Fiber Fest.
You also need 0000 needles.

Yes it is Michele, it would make a strand of beads in no time flat.
Check out this video that I found. Watch the very first part of the video
on how it shows you to get your strand of beads over onto your working yarn (or thread).
This and the bead stranding gadget that Selena got would be perfect
when bead knitting. It would make your getting started go sooo much faster!

I like the bobbin. What a neat idea.
The little fish they have on The KnitingZone or this guy I was going to order one but always put it off.. I think they are so cute.
Good luck with yours..

The fish pendant looks a lot like those. I will have to finish the tank before I do any more beaded work, but thought I'd get them while I had the chance to look at them before I bought.
