Enchanting Top From Trendy Tops Book- Finished 3.27.09!

I am working on the sleeves now for this top.  I am using Patons Brilliant in a dark purple.  Worked on it last night and decided to baste together to check the fit.  It is snug,  but still stretchy enough to move around in. This will be my fourth wearable not counting accessories.  I am happy with it so far. I am still intimidated by making clothing, so I try one every now and then!  Oh, you know what!  I never knew you could erase wrinkles on photobucket!  But I did!  And blemishes.  My son and played with some photos tonight.  You can add animations, all kinds of stuff. i haven't edited a picture on there in so long, they have added all kinds of goodies.  Of course, the goodies may have always been there and I didn't have a clue!

Update Finished 3.27.09  Here it is and the book where I got the pattern.

That is pretty Selena, you are doing a great job on that. I have never got into doing clothes, it just intimidates me so much, like working with thread does.
I am not that good at sizing.
You are doing an awesome job with that, very nice. I would be proud
if I were you, you derseve a bunch of kuddos for that!

Wow Selena that is awesome.  You go girl.  I don't have the nerve to make something to wear.  Kan't wait to see when it's done:)

Thanks, I am working still on the sleeves.  I didn't crochet at all yesterday, had company.  And today it is slow going, cause of chores.  I am trying to get stuff together for a yard sale. We have so much stuff!

Your top is lookin good so far.
I made myself a couple of sweaters that are warm and cozy for winter..
Good Luck on your gathering for your yard sale. That's one thing I need to do..

It looks wonderful! Sleeves have always intimidated me, but it sounds like you are doing an excellent job.

Thanks!  This is a short sleeve pattern and so far it is just increases every row.  Now we'll see how well I do at sewing them in!

Thanks, still slogging along.  Worked a little on it last night, now it is nap time.

Finished the top using Patons Brilliant in Prettiest Plum.  It took seven skeins and I have a less than half a skein left, so I calculated pretty well on this top.  Pics in the first post.  The edging was in lovers knot, which I had never done before, so to You Tube I went!  It really is an easy stitch.  Anyhoo, my third wearable.  So far, a tank, a sweater that didn't really turn out too well, and now a short sleeve top.
I think it turned out pretty well!
Oh as a side note, I got the yarn at Michael's on clearance at $1.50 a skein.  So, not a bad dent in the pocketbook for a new top!

Beautiful!!
You did a great job..

YouTube to the rescue!!! I love that place...

It looks great! I am still struggling trying to finish a sweater for me. (I think I haven't worked on because it is intimidating, too.)  Your sweater turned out great.  And what a deal on the yarn!

That's pretty Selena, you did a great job on that. It looks like it fits you perfect! I have never tackled anything in the way of clothing before
but who knows, I might just give it a go this summer. If I can find me a very light weight cotton yarn that is easy to work with, and is at the right price, I think a blouse might be fun for me to try.

Thanks for the support!  I didn't really know for sure how it would turn out.  But, I measured, measured, measured as I went to make sure the thing would fit! Oh, yeah, I have to take back the three wearables.  I made a vest for a girlfriend a couple of years ago.  I measured the heck out that too.  I had one of her vests that she wore to measure by and it turned out too.

What a beautiful top!  You did a great job on it!
I think I have that book somewhere around here.
TX CrochetLover

Thanks Tammy!  It is an older book, and they are all listed as easy or intermediate, so of course that is what I needed in a wearable pattern!
