Hey guys, I wanted to update you all on what I found out at the hospital yesterday.

What started all of this the other day was when I went to get out of bed, I had a very bad spinning sensation. After 10 days of this, I went to the ER. They found that what I had was
"BPPV -- BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO". I get very nauseous and the room spins violently when I lay down and some when I raise back up. I am somewhat woosey when I'm up but no spinning. It has been going on now for 11 days.

All blood test came back normal and they did a CAT Scan and it was normal. I don't know how in the world I am ever gonna pay for all of this.

They have also sent off a blood sample for Lyme disease and I am praying that comes back negative. I had a reaction to a tick bite about 5 weeks ago and now the headaches

type of Migraine that manifests symptoms related to the part of the brain supplied by the basilar artery. These symptoms include nausea and vomiting, vertigo, possible loss of consciousness, and loss of balance.
It happens mostly in younger but can occur also in adults.
This has really got me scared. They gave me "Esgic-Plus 500mg Tabs for pain. My head hurts off and on all day. It hurts the most when I lay down and I can't sleep. I took the tab last night and that helped.

I am suppose to go for hehab (Epley maneuver) in the med center (at the hospital) for the vertigo if they find that its just what they called "otoconia" (ear rocks,

They also found my blood pressure to be high, 188 over 98
(I am having bad headaches). They started me on Lopresser until I can see a doctor. I haven't took one yet, I am so afraid of BP meds. I started eating the Dean Ornish program (have lost 17 lbs. so far) and it has been proven to reverse all of this (clean my arteries and lower my BP).

I would say that the vertigo and worry about the possibility of having Lyme disease is what has me so on edge causing my BP to be so high.
I weigh 284 now and am taking short walks. I quit smoking but have had a slip or two, but I am still trying...I will make this work, I have to make this work.

I am to follow up with a doctor on my BP too, but I don't have a clue as to how I am going to do this. I am going to try to stick to this Dean Ornish program, it has been proven to work and it's all I know that I can afford to do.

I need your prayers.... no Lyme (test will come back tuesday or wednesday)... I just took my BP (145 over 98, heart rate 82 setting)
and praying for this diet to be my answer... and prayers needed for the vertigo to just be the rocks in my heads

and nothing more serious.

Love you guys, miss you guys. I will try and get in here as much as I can
and let you know what's up and how I am progressing. I am a tough old bird and I know God will see me through anything.

But I am really scared on all of this you all, please keep me in your prayers

dear kathy of course your in my prayers. hey girl you get yourself on those bp pills for even a bit to get it under control then you can go off once you lose the weight. your at a bad time there could cause stroke, heart attack any number of bad things , so think hard about it kk i know it isn;t fun but it is very important to get on those meds asap i love you you old tough bird, but even old tough birds needs help sometimes so get it or else

Take care, GF, and take your meds! Why would you be afraid of it? Millions of people take BP meds. My sister's BP is through the roof. Yours is low compared to hers! She takes 3 BP meds and it's still too high. You better get yours under control before it damages your arteries further.
Now, the next time we hear from you, you better say you're taking your meds as prescribed by the Doctors!

I was on BP meds for a month. My BP is back to normal now. So I don't have to take them any more.
So with the weigh you are lossing you might not be on them long..

Take your meds!!!!!!

You are in my prayers and please I am 38 and my BP is sometimes 184/117 and sometimes 90/40 both land me in the ER, I also have migraines but you have to take the meds to get thigns under control then you may get off of them. Please just take care of you.

Geez Kathy, you better be listening to the doctors. They tell you to take meds for a reason, they don't want you to get worse. So, take care, listen to the docs and know we are all praying for you.

*hugs* It's scary I know, but it'll get better.
I too would avoid the BP medicine if at all possible. Believe me the stress of headaches and worry can reek havoc on your bp, try to relax and just take care of yourself.

I have now lost 21 pounds

and my BP is staying down (below the 160's over 90's).

I did a meditation thing yesterday and took my BP right aftewards and it was 115 over 77 and my heart rate was 69.

It is staying around 130's over 80's right now, only went up once to 159 over 98........... was when I had a really bad headache.

Those have finally stopped now after 14 days. That pain pill helped me sleep better. I was (and am) drinking lots of water now and I think the headaches may have been due to a lot of flushing...my swelling in my feet and ankles aren't near as bad now. Everything coming in all at one time just makes one worry for the worst.

Hubby and I are walking and exercising some, working in the garden
and eating more of a vegetarian/vegan diet.

I called the Hosp. again today and the test results are not yet back on the
Lyme disease. I am saying my prayers on this one, I sure had to hear them say possitive.

If it comes in negative, then what my vertigo more than likely is will be due to a virus in the inner ear (can't remember what they called it) It can shift the little calcium crystals out of where they belong which causes the
intense vertigo.

LOL, hubby tells me that I am getting to enjoy a cheap drunk, nausea and all, the old coot!

I just want to smack him sometimes, LOL!
