Large Granny Blanket???
I was attempting to crochet a large granny blanket but as I continued to do round after round it just got wavier and wavier on all four sides with a bit of pulling toward the center square.
After a while I finally decided to frog it, but mid way into ripping, it occurred to me that my granddaughter could use this as a blanket for her doll, so I stopped ripping and seamed it at the join.
My question is why did this happen and can't you just do a basic granny square and keep going (I didn't re-joining the yarn) round after round without it getting all wavy? I don't think my gauge changes much, as I'm a fairly consistent crocheter in terms of not too tight, nor too loose, so I just don't get it.....help me, please.
Thanks, L.

How many dc's are you putting in each corner? How many ch's between, in corners?
I find that if I put ch3 in the corners it gets wavy. I usually put [dc 2, ch1 dc 2] in the corners and then I skip the very first dc (right next to the corner....just that very first one on each side) and that might help too.
I also find I have an easier go of it if I use clusters of [3dc, ch1] instead of doing dc's all the way across....but then that leaves holes too.
Don't know if this helped at all.........
