Yeah, I am a fast crocheter, I think I even crochet in my sleep,lolI love it!
The yarn used is Red Heart Comfort Yarn, its a Worsted Weight. I usually buy it in the big 1 lb ball. That is mainly what I use for everything, it works up really fast.
We do not have a great selection of yarns in Canada, like for instance, Caron Simply Soft which is very commonly used in US is not sold in Canada or at least not where I live anyway.

I have got to see if I can find some of that RH yarn, I love to work with RH worsted and if it is a softer yarn than their basic 4-ply worsted, I think I would love to make some blankets with it.
Thanks for letting me know what you use, I am going to have to find some.
I myself am not that fond of simply soft, it tends to snag to easy to me.
I do like how it is soft but I don't think it is as durable as good old RH
