NewbieHello I'm a newbie from IL. Newbie to this forum, but also part-newbie to crochet too! I started teaching myself how to crochet just this past summer, but I didn't really get it until just this October. Since then I've made a few scarves, and I recently have just started my very first afghan, and it's my first RR as well. It's turning out pretty good, except for the thing ending up being 13 points instead of 12 *shrugs* all well!
I'm looking to get into Project Linus, so anyone that has any good information or tips on that would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Mania! There are a lot of talented people here who can help you in your discovery of the art of crochet. For my area Project Linus, I just did a search and the website gave me the contact name and email.
