Please Help With Joining....before I go crazy!I have a 6ft by 8ft granny afghan that needs joining. I cant make it look pleasing to they eye. I'm using Lionbrand Homespun.
Also....I have a granny bookmark that needs to be joined. Pattern calls for whipstitch for joining. Anyone know where a good tut is available?
Or any good joining tips?
 Please help me....or I will scream!!!!!!

I've done some whipstitchen with thread work and it should work fine. Generally you have the edging and each individual stitch is visible in a granny square. I just go stitch to stitch and whip it together that way, match it up, right sides together, put the needle through the top strands of the stitches on both pieces, same location, and pull through. I know there are some tutorials out there on this. Google it :) try about.com too.

lol, thanx mythunderbird!
OK, I didn't try joining last night, I worked on a purse instead! The squares are staring me down though! :) So, I've decided to do it this weekend! My hubbies out of town until Sunday, the kids are having a sleepover...so, while they're playing or doing crafts, I'll join my squares! And listen to all of their chatter!!!

I generally use the SC joining method myself. It works great for grannies!

Joining your squaresWhat I do, is I slip stitch them all and it looks exactly the same as if you whip-stitched them all. AND it is by far faster. Good luck :)
