Prayer request for my momTomorrow my mother is having hip replacement surgery. She's only 57 but has been having hip troubles (right hip) for at least the last 15 years and is finally getting a replacement.
At first the doctor said she was too young and would have to wait for at least another 7 years but she didn't take that for a reasonable answer. (If I can say one thing about my mother is that she's as stubborn as a mule....make that a pack of mules!!)
This is also the reason she and my father won't be here for Christmas but it's totally understandable.
I also feel terribly guilty that I won't be there to take care of her, that's my job as her daughter. So I'm dealing with a huge amount of guilt right now too. I'm very emotional right now. I'm worried about her....so much.
So, if you could keep her in your prayers, actually keep both of my parents in your prayers as my father has to make the long (at least 1 hour) drive to go see her at the hospital every day and they just had about 18" (yes, that's 18 inches) of snow dumped on them over night. (That's why I'm glad I live in Texas now and NOT Canada!!)
Ok, I realize that I'm babbling now but I am truly so worried, you just don't know. Please keep them in your prayers. Pray for my mom and her surgery and pray for my dad that he has safe trips back and forth.

Trust me Lisa, I know how hard it is to be a thousand miles away & one of your parents need you. It's really tough.

I know this has got to be a hard one for you Lisa,
but just know that your Mom will be so relieved when this is over
for her. Sounds like she has wanted a very long time.

Thank you to all of you.
I talked to her today and she is scheduled for her surgery at 1pm EST.
I'll let you know it goes as soon as I hear from my dad. I'm an emotional wreck but will be alright.

I will be thinking of all of you today and know she will be all right. Replacement surgeryhas advanced so much since they first started doing it I am sure she do well.

I'm praying for you, too. I know it's hard not being able to help take care of her. But remember that you're covering her in prayer and that IS taking care of her!

I just got off the phone with my dad and ALL IS GOOD!!
Thank goodness. He said the surgery was a complete success and mom is doing very well.
Thank you so much to everyone who kept her in your prayers. She still has a lot of things to go through in her recovery but at least the really hard part is over.
I'll keep you updated as she gets better!!

Lisa - So glad things went smoothly with your mom. I can relate somewhat since my mom broke her hip many years ago when she was 63 and had to be operated on. (Though in her case, we didn't know she also had cancer, which spread when the air hit it......) Keep us updated. Hugs, Teri
