I 'discovered' it some time ago but saw there was a waiting list so I decided to wait to sign up. Boy....did I make a bad call there. Everyone I knew who signed up then are now in. I finally signed up not too long ago when I saw how popular it was and how long the list was so I will be waiting a while. *sigh* I will add you both as a friend once I'm there though!

I've been on for a couple of weeks now . . .

It's HIGHLY addictive.

I already had a "Must Make Soon" list, and this site has just about overwhelmed me with ideas for projects.

I do see this site really helping me organize and keep track of my projects though. The STASH has really been an eye opener for me. I didn't realize I had that much yarn tucked away. I still have a 30 gal. Rubbermaid to go through yet

. Plus, it's great to be able to link over to others who have made the same pattern.

Yeah...I've been eying my spot in line. Last week I had somewhere around 11,000 people in front of me and this week it's in the 10,000's. Just look at how many people signed up AFTER me! I'm so mad at myself for not taking the 2 seconds to sign up when I first saw it. Oh well....I think Selena is right...at least all the bugs should be worked out by then!

Have faith, the girls over at Ravelry are working on upgrading and going live soon enough. They are trying to get all the equipment and such set up. their servers are going to start charging them in 10 days so they will be up and running shortly!!! Then you'll get invited, i jsut know it :)

Latest Ravelry news....

Many people have asked about our launch date - when will we be open to the public? I can't give you an exact day right now but I can tell you what our current plans are. It's going to go like this:

* Our servers are shipping on Monday and our network hardware is already starting to arrive. The datacenter is going to start billing us in about 10 days (ready or not) so I'm going to get our stuff set up and installed as soon as possible.

* Once we are in our new home, some beta people are going to help test before we flip the switch and move Ravelry over to our grown-up servers. Testing will probably take 2 days or so.

* Next, we'll crank up the invites. I'm hoping to send 5,000 invites during the first week in our new place.

* Jess and I and the volunteer editors will need to adapt and tweak things as people start flooding in. We're still trying to perfect our techniques for dealing with email and other feedback. The volunteer editors and I are still working on improvements to the parts of the site that deal with user contributions.

* Everything will go according to plan and we'll add another 5,000 the following week

oh that reminds me - for those of you that voted on names for our servers: the "Fiber Arts Terms that Make Pretty Good Names" (Hank, Steek, Tink, Frog, Swift, Hook) are currently winning :)

Oh Kathy, it's a fantastic site! It's a community for crochet and knit. You post your wip's, fo, ufo's, wim, post pictures of all your stash, list your stash, your books, your patterns. You can get some great ideas. It's really a wonderful place to share the love of the craft!!!

I got my invitation on 9-29 and I've been addicted ever since.....talk about time consuming!

I'm trying to input all of my stash, which is a huge undertaking, as I'm sure many of you can identify with.

Then, I added some of my books, and now I'm onto my needles. The best part is I can place all these in an excel file and finally know just what I have (a big shock-er-roo) and what I don't (which isn't much, let me tell you

).

I just signed up about a month ago.
It was pretty fast getting the invite already .....
I thought it would take me a lot longer.

They are on the verge of taking it public. The amount of invites going out is 10 times that of what it was a few months ago.

It'll be interesting when it does go public. I'm the owner of 2 forums over there, plus I mod the boards for them. Both have the potential of getting crackpots and spammers. We'll see.
