Now this is interesting Miss Kitty. I had only seen the ones that are like 5 feet. This is cute. It's worth the $5 IMHO. Have to save the link for later purchase.
Thanks, good lookin' out.

I keep saying I'm a crocheter, but ummmm, patterns like this . . . I dunnoooooooo. I just printed it out. It says intermediate and I do have a girlfriend who would help me through any rough spots. I dunnoo Miss Kitty. I just might not be as loyal to crochet as I thought.
Seriously, I'm impatient and crochet simply goes faster is all.
I've been checking out that Berroco site and mercy me; I am lovin' it.
Yesterday I went to Border's and picked up a back issue of Interweave (Fall, 07), thought I'd died and went to heaven. I am so excited about coming out of my fiber arts hiatus.

Almost forgot to ask,
For someone on a budget, what would be a good yarn for them to get
to be able to make the smaller one?

Okay, first of all, check this out: Crochet Squared by Marsha A. Polk (THIS is the book that got me hooked on ruanas). Oh man, just stopped over at Amazon, get this -
http://www.amazon.com/Crochet-Squ...oks&qid=1197059897&sr=8-1 They have a new/used one for $1.47 (and it's probably NEW).
They are nothing but 5 feet (or more) rectangles. From that standpoint use whatever yarn that fits your budget.

These are just so pretty.
I want to make me a loose fitting BIG bulky sweater.
I saw these and right at first, I thought they were crochet
Do you all know of a free pattern out there that would be loose
fitting like these, but is more like a sweater?
Basically I guess you would call what I am looking for...
a baggy bulky BIG comfy sweater crochet pattern.

Kahud, these ARE indeed crocheted. They are crocheted rectangles. Meanwhile, I'll be on the lookout for a big, bulky, way comfy crochet sweater for you.

Dang, that's too bad. I just left Value World (local thrift store) and purchased beau coup sweaters. Saw maaany thick, fat, comfy sweaters too!!! One of these days I am going to get into purchasiing used sweaters with the thought of recycling the yarn like I read about on the 'net a couple months back (yeah right)
