Swap Items for Halloween New PicsI am taking a chance here posting some threaded
items I made for a swap. But I don't think my partners
are on the Mania.(shame on them!) Anyhoo, take a look
and tell me what the green thing is. There is a debate
in my house. It is supposed to be a witch, my kid says it
is a scarecrow. Anyhoo, it is a keyring dongle and the
other is a suncatcher.
I took the web from a doily pattern, used #2 Omega
thread, the spider I got off the net, used size 10 thread,
and the witch head borrowed a part of a pattern in one
of my Leisure Arts books, used size 10 thread and
size 2 orange for the hair. I am now working on some
coasters and did a bookmark, but I don't like the way
the bookmark came out, so will try to alter the pattern
to suit me.
Will these work?
Kitty bookmark I got off the web, then altered.
Below is a set of coasters I made from a pattern I got off the web, then changed the last few rows to make them bigger in thread.

Well, I sure hope my partner doesn't see them!
Thanks for the vote on the witch, now I can tell my son
that other people recognize it as a witch!
The spider web was pretty
easy and the spider was quick.

I thought it was a witch before I even read your post.
That spider w/ the web is awesome. Your swap partner's a lucky lady.

I finished the coasters, but need to block them. I redid the
bookmark and I like results a little better, but it turned out
smaller cause I used a smaller hook. After I block it, I will
measure it and see if it will work.
Thanks for the votes. My son is next to me playing XBox.
I told him what everyone voted, and he said what do they know!
Then he laughed so I know he was teasng. He liked Pam's
comment.
When I get the others blocked I'll show em.
Thanks for the compliments, if I had the time, I'd make
all of you the spider and web! The witch, that was a one timer,
too much work for such a small item! LOL!

Alisha, it is called sitting pretty bookmark, but I didn't like the
top of the head , so I changed the pattern so there wasn't a hole
in the head. And changed the body, chained two instead
of three on the first two rows so it blocked out better.

The coasters and kitty bookmark
are cute! Can you tell me what
pattern you used for the coasters?
I don't decorate too much for
Halloween, but I like things like
coasters to help change the room
up a bit.

Veronica, here is the original pattern for an 8" square in yarn.
I used thread and had to add some sc rows to make it come out to
about 4 inch coasters.

Now, I need to get this stuff in the mail, but am too lazy today
to get there!

One of the reasons I blocked the kitty bookmark the way I did
is because our youngest cat trots along with what we call the
periscope tail, ya know, straight up and with a
little curve at the top. So, I had to add the periscope to the
kitty bookmark as a tribute!
