I am trying to do a rose on a square. It's my first time (I really thought I could do it when I simply looked at it). Last night I actually sat down, read the pattern and bam, round 3 already I ran into trouble. "I figured, let me sleep on it, this is supposed to be fun." Well, now it's the next day and I still can't envision:
"from the back, sl st around the post of the first dc on round 1, directly below; ch 5 to count as the first dc and the first ch 2, (bpdc around the next dc on round 1; ch 2 7 times . . ."
I'm cool until I get to the slip stitching around a post (never seen that before; I am a visual learner). I believe bpdc means double crocheting around a back post??? I thought I saw that somewhere once when it wasn't my concern, thus I did not learn it.
I have more ?'s about this square, but I need to get through round 3 first
You are a lifesaver, my partner!!!!! I am so wanting to present a good impression here (which is funny; not like I'll ever meet my newfound peeps, but still) ;-).
Printing it out right now.

bpdc means you dc around the post of the stitch in the previous row instead of the way you normally do it...going from back to front....
I found this PERFECT website!! You said you learn best by watching....try this....
Just viewed it, L. And, I did print the other instructions Libi. Thanks gals. K, I'm going to straighten up my 'puter/dressing/crocheting room a bit so I can crochet some before the day is gone. :)
