Updated Post Below - Need some good vibes sent, PleaseMy sister called me at work this morning and told me that Mom had called her around midnight to help her take my Dad to the hospital. We're not quite sure what's going on yet, but it's his bladder. Dad is really frustrated and hates being in the hospital, totally helpless. They are doing a CT scan on the bladder tomorrow sometime.
We can sure use some good thoughts sent our direction. Dad is 91 and really scared right now.
I plan on spending the day at the hospital Wednesday with them. My brother has to work and my sister will be in and out, depending on what's going on at her work. I will be taking care of their dogs, cats and chickens to. I'm the only one with a housekey right now.

Thanks Ladies, for all the good thoughts!
I'm up early so I can take the boys to school, go take care of my folks' dogs and cats and then head over to the hospital. I hope that they are able to do the CT scan this morning, but the doctor thought it would be later. Dad can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight last night and he might get a little hungry by then. He's not eating much, but he has been eating meals.
Now, if the roads will just dry off and not be slick this morning. They were really bad last night when I came home.

Am praying for your dad and the healing of his bladder. What a blessing to have your dad in his 90s. (My parents died when they were age 63 and 70.) Hugs, Teri

Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts and prayers for him and us! You are all so wonderful!
They did surgery on Dad late Wednesday. They went into the bladder and found some spots that were bleeding, so they carturised (sp?) them. Hopefully, that will stop all that. The doctor said that he feels it was caused from the radiation treatments he had a few years ago for prostate cancer. It's delayed thing and could be recurring.
He was in quite a bit of pain last night, but was sleeping a little bit when I left at 10:00pm. If it stops bleeding, they may send him home today. Mom is really dragging and keeps telling us to go back to work and she can handle things. I'm not sure what I'm doing today until I call her this morning. If he had a bad night, I may go let her get some sleep.
At least they finally did something to help him. The doctor was tied up in surgeries for 2 days and they had to fit dad's into the schedule. He didn't eat for about 24 hours, because they didn't know what time he would be taken in.
It was a really long day yesterday.

My goodness Jodi...what a time. I'm glad to hear that it is (hopefully) getting better. It's tough to watch your parents going through 'stuff'.
I'm sending many good vibes your way...many many many.....

Just a quick update.
Dad had a bit of a set back yesterday morning. My sister called me at work and told me to get over there. It was scary! We almost lost him, but he came back to us.
He was doing so much better in the afternoon. He was hungry and eating good. My sister stayed the night with him so that Mom could get some sleep. I'm heading back over there in an hour or so.
The 2 days I tried to go to work this week, I got calls about Dad. I think I'll miss work today. I'm not taking any chances with 'carma' so to speak!
Thanks again to you all!

Dad is home now. He came home Friday afternoon.
We just couldn't believe when the doctor came in and said he could go home already.
On Thursday his heart stopped 2 times and Friday they were sending him home. The med's they started giving him for the cough and congestion was working really good.
He's a whole lot happier at home, that's for sure.
I want to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts!
I know it really helped me to know you were all out there for us.

Oh Vicki! I hope you heal up quickly! (I hug gently)
Did you tell them they were supposed to leave the branches at the dump?
Thanks for asking about Dad. He's doing better, although there have been a couple other problems crop up due to medications and such. They have been able to make their Friday afternoon dinners out ok. They meet my aunt at a buffet here every week.
He had fluid in his lungs and the medicine to help that is hard on his kidneys. It's kind of a catch 22, so to speak. He's doing okay right now though.
Now, my older son has the flu on top of the nasty cough he's had for 2 months. The doctors have given him 2 different antibiotics and some other stuff to help him out. He's missed so much school that I don't know if he can get caught up or not. We'll see. If he can shake the fever I think he'll be okay. It just doesn't want to go away.
Hang in there my friend! Remember, Spring is beginning in our part of the country.
