What's the EASIEST doily you ever made?Hi ladies-
I tried thread crochet about 2 years ago...and it was ugly!
Small hook + moving train = disaster! Anyway I recently
picked up the thread and a d hook and made some
bookmarks. Well, I've worked myself down to a
c hook...hoping to hit the numbers soon
Anyway I'm looking for a REALLY EASY doily pattern.
I'd like to give thread crochet another shot, but don't
want to get in over my head. I'd like to try something
small, but again very easy. Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks for your help

In my experience, pineapple doilies are fairly easy. The chains
don't look like much until you block, but the count is easy, and
the pattern is predictable. So, if you make a mistake, it is
easy to see where you messed up! LOL! I have made a lot of
different kinds of doilies, I just go slow and try to make my stitches
as even as possible. I looked on Crochet Pattern Central for
doilies. There are lots! I would pick something that uses a size 10
thread and go from there. It is crochet no matter the size. Just concentrate on making
your stitches even and don't hurry through.
It may not look like much until you block it. That's when the full
effect of the pattern shows. Don't let thread intimidate you.
It's not hard, cause if it was, I wouldn't be using it!

Thanks TXCrochetLover!
I actually found a crochet along at hassdesigns
that I've signed up for. It's for a filet heart doily.
So far so good. I have found that I can only work
on it for about an hour at a time, it kills my wrist.
Day 1 went extremely slow, it was taking me 40-50
minutes to do a row  But now that I have a
better understanding of reading the pattern it is going a bit quicker! :smt041
I will keep in mind the pineapple doily and check one
out next...
Thank you for your help.

Well done Jen!
I hope you will share a pic when
your done! WTG on taking on filet!
I don't do well with filet.
I'm not sure if I'm just making
it more difficult or not, lol!
Keep up the great work! It's always
good to try something new!

Pineapple doilies! Once you know the structure of them, it comes pretty easily and the doilies just seem to fly off my hook!

I have to agree about the
pineapple doilies. They look
beautiful and are pretty easy
to make.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies...
I think I'll be working on the filet doily for a bit yet. My work schedule
has become a bit hectic so it's going to be a bit of a slow go. But I'm determined to finish it because its so pretty! And.... not as hard as the first time I tried thread!
