WIP June 18 & 25My apologies for missing here. Been having difficulties with our old malmute mix, Boo-dog. We will be putting her to sleep, tonight. Hopefully I will post next Wednesday. This hurts like h**l. We've had her for about 16 of her 19+ years. Rescued. Have to go.
Knitting a little, crocheting a little, stitching a little. What is everyone working on?

I am sending Hugs your way Suzee,
I know just how you must be feeling right now. We just had to do this
also earlier this year (back in the spring). She (Miss Sheppie) was 18 years old. It was cancer and she would have never made it through the surgery or the follow up treatments.
And We just found out some bad news on our other yard baby
(Mr. Tanner). He tested heartworm possitive and it is just killing us.
There is no way that we can come close to the cost to try
and kill the worms. They say that he could have sudden death at
anytime
even while on the treatment (if he lives through the two day treatment in the animal hospital that he would have to do right at the start).
Tanner is my youngest son's (Chris) dog, but his daddy and I have became soooo attached to the fellow that it is just hurting us so much.
Right now he is doing pretty good, he isn't coughing now like he was
a couple of weeks ago.
We are hoping that maybe they got the test wrong somehow (a false possitive).
They treated him back a couple of weeks ago for an upset tummy (they think he drank some bad water---bacteria from the creek) and he had the cough then.
My son is going to another vet this coming week and we are saying prayers for Tanner that they did get it wrong.
Tanner is 7 years old, still a young dog.
We will hold you in our prayers hun
I know it is a hard one to get through.

Suzee I'm sorry. We had to put our old dog to sleep (he was biting our youngest son at the time. I still felt bad that we *had* to do that, I thought maybe he would be okay in a family with no kids, but they said 'if he is this bad at nine months, he is dangerous...' )

So sorry to read the new on Boo-dog.
We had to put down my "Big Ol' Teddybear" Oso, he could walk anymore and started snapping at people. It's so sad and hurts so much..
Sorry for our loss..

Thank you, all of you, so much for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. I think you contributed to a surprise. The vet wanted to take another good look at her this morning. So, we went through the weekend with her at home. Took Boo to vet this morning. He squeezed all around her underside (which she did NOT like) and thinks it may be a stone in her bladder about the size of half a ping pong ball. I left her there and they are going to do some further checking & an xray. They'll call me when she's ready to come home. That dog is indestructible. She has had more close calls than the 9 lives of a cat! We are happy she is still here, though.
Miss Kitty, Mom & Kahud...I understand, and I am so sorry to hear of your losses and concerns, too. We've been there 3 times before with previous furkids and it is never easy and it always hurts. I am thinking and praying and sending warm & healing thoughts your way.

What great news Suzee, I hope and pray they will be able to fix her up quickly so you can get her back home and spoil her to bits!

Okey dokey...here we go. Boo dog does not have a stone. She has a hardening bladder and a nasty infection. She is on antibiotics, cranberry pills and her food is cut by half until further notice. We are relieved. I think everyone's warm thoughts, wishes and prayers helped her along. THANK YOU ALL!
