Hi Miss Kitty I am working on the dish cloths for the swap. I need to get to my socks but just haven't. I am still working on the layette for the lady at work. It's coming along very slowly. I don't like the pattern and find it boring.
congrats on your socks. Are you using double pointed needles or the needles with the cable? Sorry your blanket is being a pain. I know you will figure it all out. You do such beautiful work. Hugs:) Ok what is everyone else up to?

Me, what am I working on you ask
Socks, yes, I am still trying to knit these things up
and having a frustrating way to go with them. I am
going to master this yet! Ain't no knitting going to
get the best of me, I am going to conquer this knit thing yet!
I did knit a little heart yesterday I went onto Vickie Howell's
blog and knitted the little heart. It looks so cute and I think I did
a bang up job on it if I do say so myself

I'm using 2 circular needles. Doing 2 socks at once on 2 circular needles..
Still doing the gusset. The pattern is decrease 1 stitch per row. So I have to decrease 1 stich per row for 38 rows.. Almost there..Only have about 12 more rows to go, then the foot..

Working on a knitted scarf, knitting another maulet bag in pink this time, and crocheting a baby blanket, which I got off count so it got bigger at about row 30. I may have to frog the whole thing. Yuck!

Oh no You don't have to rip it all do you.. I think that the stitches multiply when you are not working on them..

Well there is one good thing Selena, it is crochet and that helps. I never can find my stitches in knit when I have to pull out, I always have to start
over. I will be so glad when I get that part figured out.

Yeah, there is a trick to that part of knitting which will come with experience I think!!!! I did recover one row of a towel I am knitting. But I am afraid I may have twisted the loops. This is a new thing to learn. After crocheting for a long time, the learning curve for knitting will seem long until we are proficient in it, then we'll be like the great knitters here on the board--- albe to whip out projects! LOL!
Yeah, I decided to frog the baby blanket. Today was my sort, frog, and store yarn and projects. I'll show you what I mean on off topics. I got a craft room/office for me now!

Amen on the knit, I will be glad too when I can get that part down pat.
I have learned something that helps me now and that's a cheater yarn
What I do is run a strand of yarn thru a row, or round about every 5 rows/rnds or so.
That way if I do a goof, or slip a stitch ( I still have trouble with getting that back)
I just pull out back to those few rows/rnds to the cheater yarn row/rnd.
I have had to start over to many times to not come up with something, LOL!

That is called a lifeline..

Ahhh, and here I thought I had came up with something all my own
Let me tell ya, it is truely a lifesaver when it comes to knitting,
for me anyway seeings how I am having to pull out so much
I am getting better at this though and I think that working on the socks
has really been helpful with coordinating my hands and with my tention.
I am knitting continental, seems to be more coordinated for me.
I haven't had to pull out at all on this pair so far, knock on wood! I have
actually learned how to turn my needles at more of a 90 degree angle
and have not missed or dropped a stitch yet. I think that it is working
with the 4 needles that has helped me here.
It Is making the knitting go faster too

Oh a lifeline, that is a GREAT idea! That is something I will incorporate in my knitting, cause I am not really good at picking up stitches yet.

Lifeline
I use dental floss. I always get a free one at the dentist office.. So I have a bunch.

Hmmm, I don't insert or work the lifeline thru the stitches, I just knit over a runnig row,
or round as I knit it. I just do it a little different but is basically the same thing.
