WIP's Wednesday------July 22, 2009
Another week has gone by. Anybody working on anything new??
Me~
Mr. Monkey is getting his arms and legs. Then just needs his face and tail.
Zebra sock is only to the heel. Second sock is going slowly.
Just not my week to get things done or work on them.
Hope everybody else is doing better...

I have been slowly working on the neck gaiter. I may get it done sometime soon. I am looking for charity squares and potholder patterns. I also am looking for a garment to knit.

I'm still working on my shrug. (Sigh....) Only eight and a half rows to go; but man, it is dragging....
Also a dishcloth that is taking forever, too.
I finished a potholder today, though. That I started probably four years ago. Just have to weave in the ends. I'm not in the potholder swap. But I am in a potholder CAL. So this will count for that.

Hi Miss Kitty!
I am working on a few things (as usual)
I did notice that all my current WIPs are knit and here is what I'm working on:
The February Lady Sweater (free pattern from over at Ravelry)
A shawl
Socks (I always have a pair of socks on the needles)

I'm working on 3 hummingbird doilies ( 2 more birds to build then on to the pineapple borders) also making some dish sponges

Tammy, what yarn are you using for the Feb sweater?
Michele, can't wait to see the doilies!

MwaM, hooray for a finished potholder! Hope your dishcloth is going well.
Tammy, sounds like your getting ready for cool weather.
Michele, hummingbird doilies, how beautiful! Are your dish sponges a bit like scrunchies?
I ought to work on Christmas gifts and potholders. Have been doing chores instead.

I'm making 2 different types of sponges ..... they both work really good
The first one I made up :
ch 20 , hdc in 2nd ch , hdc to end ,*ch2 , turn , hdc in blp of each st* repeat from * to * for 10 rows
I make 2 then sc them both together
The other one I found online and is really quick to make I like pattern #2 ( I make 2 then sc them together also)
link: http://nikkislipp.wordpress.com/2.../pattern-two-rectangular-susemis/
right now I'm just making a bunch of the rectangles in a bunch of different colors then coming up I'll put them all together LOL

Michele, thanks for posting the patterns. Those sound very nice. I like hearing about how people do things, such as washing dishes, in other cultures.
I'd guess some have already started making things out of lots of those little "sponges" put together.

I finished my shrug. I still don't quite believe it is done, but it is. You can see it here: http://crochetmania.myfastforum.org/sutra44015.php#44015
Serena, I finished my dishcloth, too. It looks almost just like the other ballband one I did. I'll try to get a picture of it soon. Going to be gone all day tomorrow, and I've had some kind of flu.
Michele, your susemis are cute. I love scrubbies. Now that my shrug is done I should make some little projects. (Although I now have a second shrug to finish, too.... sigh...) A couple quick projects in between won't hurt, though. (Yeah, that's how I get myself into trouble....)
Don't mind me talking to myself. I think I'm still half out of it from this virus; whatever it is...
I am going to go see what the Feb lady sweater is.
I hope you don't have any more overtime anamorxsis

Tina your shug is beautiful!
I like doing the susemis ... quick no brainer project in between working with thread
I make all of mine with crochet cotton ( Asian country's like yarn i don't know why) I also make all white ones to use with bleach

Tina, I'm sorry you've been ill. Hope you're feeling much better today. Your shrug is lovely!
Michele, I was wondering if you bleached your sponges. I do think those susemis would be attractive put together and used as granny squares are.
I use nylon net, the bridal veil size of mesh, for washing dishes. It dries fast and doesn't get icky. It's so easy. I bought some at a yard sale a couple of years ago. It'll last me a few decades.

Michele those scrubbies are cute! Great idea to make them all white. Tina, sorry to hear you have been feeling sick, I was wondering if you were ok.

Michele I can't wait to see the doilies. I love filet work and I really love pineapples. Tina the shrug is amazing. I will have to work on potholders and scrubbies for x-mas.
