Wip's Wednesday----------September 23, 2009
I was posting and forgot that it was Wednesday..
I guess that the week just went by to fast..
So, What is everybody working on this week?
Me:
Still working on my "with a Twist"and Hugs and kisses socks.
Started working on an afghan. Knitting modular squares and started with 5 1/2 inch squares
but tried a smaller square. So I'm at 2 1/2 in square
and Hubbie and I like that better..
Finished the Seraphina Shawl for my MIL.
( Hubbie finished his Cross-stitch picture of him and his 3 of his brothers. His mom called them "Her Banditios".)(( There are 10 boys in the family and 3 girls)) So I thought that when he ships it out he can send mine, too..

Shawl, socks, and an afghan! Very impressive Miss Kitty.
I've been busy with the rain and its effects this last week.
Will be picking the crocheting up again soon.

I am slipping into project overload again... (sigh)
I got bored of the Earl Grey socks and haven't worked on them for a while.
Finished a couple dishcloths.
Started a BICO sweater (Baby It's Cold Outside) to RAOK someone with. Ran out of yarn. (I knew I would.)
Now I am looking for a pattern to make a shawl to RAOK someone with, who is very ill. I don't have any yarn to make one with, though. (Sigh) So... I will probably work on some things I need to finish. Like my Simply Striped Shrug. Which I don't want to do anymore, either; but I'm supposed to be testing the pattern.
And I'm not supposed to be doing any of this, I'm supposed to be doing homeschooling with the kids...
Can I run away? Are moms allowed?

Yes, moms are allowed to run away. Gots to keep our sanity somehow.

Miss Kitty, your Seraphina Shawl is so pretty! I never could figure that pattern out. Maybe I'll give it a go again someday. I really like that shawl.

Wow, everyone is busy! I am doing the one sweater project. I turned in the helmet liners to the meetupgroup, but haven't gone to get more yarn for another.

Me too Tina, but Amy has re-written it so you can understand the pattern better.
I made one from this re-write and it is much easier to understand.

Thank you, Mom w/a Motif.
I had better luck looking at the pictures then reading that pattern for the Seraphine.
I forgot to add my dishcloths.
They are Hubbie tested and approved. My hubbie liked it and they dry faster then with worsted weight. And friends Hubbie said they got a gold star..

Did you use those two strands of size 10 cotton? That's a good idea. It looks great, too.

Nice Miss Kitty
Now, if I can get my hubby to do the dishes for me, that would be nicer
|
Miss Kitty

Yes, I used two strands of 10.
My Hubbie does the supper dishes most of the time..
Kathy's scrubbies are Hubbie tested and approve, too.

Whatcha AARRGGHHHH!!!!! ing about Miss Suzee

The AARRGGHHH! refers to the fact that Miss Kitty has fewer afghans begun and I bet a LOT MORE finished than I do.
I have now tallied how many unfinished projects I have.
- star afghan
- star afghan
- geometric throw
- blue pillow
- Mainstays afghan
- Filet crochet hearts afghan
- short sleeved knitted top
- hoodie vest
- dog sweater
- 3 mesh bags (need to make one more)
- Purple, black and granite/brown? afghan for SSon
- 5 cross stitch and 3 needlepoint projects, not to mention the unfinished needlepoint projects (8 or 9) I bought at an estate sale early in the year.
Eyes were definitely bigger than the time span I alotted.

Oh my goodness woman you will be this time next year getting all of that finished (I know I would). It would be for me cause I can be slow at times

Don't feel bad, Suzee. I don't even tally up how many I have any more. It just gets me depressed.

I am almost done with the fifth repeat of the first six rows! LOL! So far, I haven't had to count, you place markers andmove them along as you increase, etc. So, I draped around my back and chest, seems I am ok on gauge still.

I can't wait to see it when you get finished.
It is so pretty

Miss Kitty

Sorry Suzee. No not really. But you got more.
I'm moving along on with my modular afghan. And put a few more row on my "with a Twist" socks..That's about it .

Kahud, are you still looking for baby booties?
Here are some very vintage patterns:
You have to scroll down the page a bit.

Lovely to look at, even if styles have changed.

I am about half way finished with the body of the sweater. The front left and front right are joined and I am just doing circular stockinette on the body. I still have the ribbing to do and the sleeves. If I don't get stuck on the sleeves, I will make my goal! Yippee!!

Wow, you are becoming a fast knitter!!
You go girl, another week you maybe done.

I found a couple of really cute patterns on Ebay that I just bought yesterday, but thank you anyway
I just looked at their site and I never did do much with thread, wish I had because I see so many beautiful patterns done in thread

WOW Selena, you are getting fast! I can't wait to see some pics.
I need to pick my needles back up and get with it.
I did a few things when I first figured out how to knit (how to hold the yarn and needles) but that's it,
I started back with my crochet since I have been feeling back up to crocheting again.
I have missed doing them both.
