Wip's Wednesday--------September 9, 2009
It's another Wip's Wednesday, since I missed the last one. So I expect everybody to be really busy this week.
Let "hear" what you are crocheting or knitting.
Me;
I'm working on 2 pair of socks. 1- "with a twist" and 2- Hugs and Kisses (cable)
And I made 3 Not Your Ordinary knitted dishcloths that the nurses took and working on another now..

Miss Kitty, I was hoping you'd post a WIPS Wed. today. I'm really glad you're up to it.
I got a few rows done on a lap robe. I got a lot of housecleaning done and some other chores. Getting ready for company over Labor Day added to my work, although they were chores of love.
Now that the weather is a bit cooler, I find I'm more keen to get those Christmas gifts finished.
Anoramaxsis, glad you had some time for rest and got so much crocheting accomplished.

Working on helmet liner still. I thought I would have time to make some more bracelets so I have them to give for the ladies campout. But unless I hurry, I will not have enough. Crud, the time just gets in the way. Seems like yesterday it was still July!

It does seem that way. July and August just slipped right by. September is going ever faster....

September for me seems faster than the last few months have.
Good sign I am on the mend Time is beginning to past faster now...getting older every minute

Can we have a little pause in this getting-older-every-minute speed? It's true that the years, the months, and the seasons fly right by, and each day lasts an eternity. Time is so odd.
It's nice to have little comforts when it goes so fast, or so strangely. I made custard again today, the stovetop kind, with Bird's custard powder. I like warm custard!
It's cool enough today to wear a jacket outside, and it's very cloudy again. I've been wanting to do laundry, but it looks too much like rain. Has for several days.

Tx Cl: What kind of braclets are you making. Glad everyone is feeling better and can crochet. If I learned anything this past weekend It's that family and needlework are more important to me. It has rained off and on here. My son says a bad set of storms are headed this way. I refuse to discuss aging. I feel age is a state of mind. My mind is set at younger. Ha! Ha! lol.

Maxine, I had made a few knitted beaded bracelets in the summer. I have meant to get back to them. The ones I have made, there are pics of one or two on the knit section, I think! LOL! Anyhow, they are made from thread and seed beads using 0000 needles.
We had storms last night, took out the power for a couple of hours.

TXCL, hope you all are all right. I'm sorry you had storms.

It's rained here for the last 3 days!
After all summer without it's kinda nice to get some..
No storms like TX just rain 3.5 inches so far and still rainning. I have the windows open a little and the air off.

It is still raining. The evening the power went out Son#1 and I went and bought ice cream just for something to do! Cause I couldn't see with my lantern and little flashlights to hardly even read! Now yesterday it rained but didn't storm. This morning the power went out twice before 9 when I got up. I could hear the fish tank filters stop. Geez, I murmured to DH it's not even storming, what is up with that?

TXCL, did you get ice cream for breakfast this morning, because the power went out?
Hope you all are all right!
Several people I know in this area are looking into whole-house generators, due to trees falling in their neighborhoods and causing power outages.
Miss Kitty, has it dried out a bit where you are?

According to the rain gauge in the yard 7 1/2 inches in two days..
Have an 80% chance today but so far none.
The back yard the water was up to the second step to the porch the rain was coming down so hard. One more step to go it would have started on the porch. It just couldn't run off fast enough.
But it is nice and cool.. Take this to the summer of over 100 degrees anyday!!

Hope all of you are safe and feeling alright!

Serena, I didn't have ice cream, but Son#1 had it for brunch!

Mmmmm, ice cream for brunch is right up there with pizza for breakfast!
Hope the weather and the electricity are behaving now.
It's cool and very pleasant here this morning.
Good day to do laundry!
