Isn't LadySnow having a baby? That's what I thought. You guys are confusing me!
I am working on snakes. I got my Crochet Pattern calender (finally!!) and I got my orders... (There is a snake pattern in there... long story) I got one snake done and now I'm making little brother's.
And, I am (in between) working on my Chakra Purse and my Central Park hoodie. I have one more increase on the sleeves then it is straight knitting.

I doubt anyone wants to see my WIPs this week, but...
Here is one of the snakes that I finished last night.
The 12 yr olds'. He said 'I want black on the bottom and yellow inside' (for the eyes). The 7 yr old wants 'a black snake w/ red eyes.'

Het Melanie, I am praying that when we all get up in the morning we will find out that there has been a new arrive at your home
I visited at your blog and saw the pretty fall tree pics. I saved the one at the top of them and have set it as my desktop background. Fall is
such a beautiful time of year

I agree...autumn is my favorite! That picture was taken about a 1/4 of a mile from my midwife's home in Amish country......so beautiful isn't it?

Oh it is beautiful, I do so miss living in the country.
Did I ever tell you that me and my family lived in an old order community here back when my children were little fellows? The Elders had excepted us to become Mennonites, but after a few months, my oldest just could not take the firewood and the kerosene. He had severe asthma.
Hubby and I have been strongly considering going back. At night it was so nice to hear the outside sounds. We could hear the horse and buggy sometimes (the midwife) in the wee hours of the morning going to deliver a baby.
And I remember the first time we got milk where the cow had eaten onions, LOL! You know what I did with the milk? I just cooked up a big batch of cornbread with it...so yummy
I loved my stove, it was a big one from Canada and had the large container on the side where I keep hot water. It was such a good stove that I even had hot embers still setting in there in the mornings. That made starting up a good fire in it so easy early in the morning.
The only thing there that would even make you think there was a modern world was an occasional jet flying over.

Mwam, that is a cute snake. Is it for door drafts, or just for fun?
Miss Kitty, your banner is so pretty and cheery!
KH, are your dishcloths for the swap? Your time with the Old Order, and the description of low-tech, country life sounds lovely.
Melanie, am keeping you in my prayers. I know we all are. Wishing you much beauty and joy.

Wow, that is a really nice banner, Miss Kitty! I forgot to tell you, your Wicked Sweater called me and said 'Can you please tell Miss Kitty to finish me?'.... Ha ha... just joking! (I can't wait to see it finished, though~ I want to knit one, too.)
Melanie, I hope all will go well. I never did a midwife (although I thought about it a lot with our first one). All mine were SO big (plus other problems--my pelvic bones are really narrow, etc, etc...), I had to have C-sections... I would never make it in Amish country. We have gone to Holmes County Amish Country before, I want to go back. (I'm assuming that is where you are by?...) I hope all goes well with the delivery.
The snakes are just toys, for the kids to play with. Thanks everyone. My 12 year old drew me a picture of how he wanted the eyes, and that's how I did them. I was glad they turned out so cute.

Holmes County is where my midwife lives. (It takes me over an hour to get there, but worth it.) :-) Right outside of Walnut Creek actually. I have to drive by the chocolate factory every time I go to here place. I told here it's cruel to have pregnant woman drive by there all the time. :) My first one was born in a hospital.....not a good experience...not even close. The last 2 were at home and it was so different and wonderful. As long as everything goes well this one will be at home as well. Such a different experience.

One of the dishcloths are for the swap Serena, the others I am going to try and sell in my Etsy Shop. I want to make up a bunch first before I post them.
Yea, a simple way of live is always the most peaceful and the most full
