Well here is the tree skirt Shadow and I are working on. It's done in worsted weight yarn double strands and I still have another 2 skeins of the white to do. The flowers will be in each point all the way around. They are going to be poinsettas lol once they get sewed on. I have all the red ones done (12) and just one green one but have to have 12. I got the pattern at Michaels.

Ok my daughter who is 12 now thinks she is all grown up and don't want me making her clothes lol. I made her hats and scarves and a couple of shrugs last year but now it's not "hot and fashionable". So she consented in letting me make her a rug for her floor lol. Got the yarn at Joann's for 2 bucks a skein marked down from 7. It's called Patons Melody Quick and Cozy. I will have to put some kind of backing on it as the yarn is very soft. It's a 5 pointed star pattern. I am so happy to have a little help from my Shadow:)

They are both beautiful. My dd would love to have a rug like that. I'll have to put that on my WIP list. Maybe I'll get to it be the time she's 12 (she's 6 now!)

I must admit, it was fun though when mine were that age. It;s hard to believe that they were ever that little to look at them now.

Wow! I love that tree skirt! I have a vision of making that and then just adding my variety of motif's to it! Ohhhh....making it in one color and then adding snowflakes too it would be so nice! Ohhh.....the possibilities!

As for your dd....I thought crochet stuff was still "hot and fashionable". That tells you what I know!

I think the rug is going to be great! Very colorful.

Oh wow,that tree skirt is going to be beautiful! I want to do one in thread
but I think it would take me forever. Maybe this pattern would work instead. I like the rug, too, very sunny and bright!
