Ok...this is the ghan I've been wanting to do but in different colors:
Free Patterns & Cat's Afghan
These are the colors I want because I have a vest just like it that I love:
So, is that considered a graph ghan?
Honestly, I don't know if I can do this one. |

| Not like you would be hinting at me or anything. This would be great...although I have 2 other things to finish up before I could "officially" join you. |

That's fine LadySnow. I'm just starting on mine...
looks like a graph afghan to me, Gina..
Just started mine yesterday afternoon. Had 3 Doctor appointments today so didn't get to work on it...
Here is what I got so far.

OK, I'm in . . . but my pictures won't be that neat looking.
I figured I could live without bobbins and use the butterfly wrap instead.
It sort of works. During the really color intensive changes I thought I'd lose my mind.
I'm just past the 1/2 way point, but I've probably got another 3mos. to go if the first 1/2 was any indication.
I'll put up a picture later tonight. |

I really like the Cat afghan..I can't get to the pattern..
Why don't you think you can do it, Gina? All the color changes??
Gina is the Cat afghan done in Sc's or Tunisian??
I'll help you out anyway I can... No I won't do it for you..
Gina, I'm printing out the pattern right now.. Got it to open on the main computer. |

Yes, the color changes are HIGHLY intimidating to me! I'm just about done with my nephew's American flag afghan right now that's killing me! I still don't know if I'm changing colors correctly. I have 3 of the 5 colors so all I have to do is get gray and white yarn and some bobbins and I can attempt this. I have 'practiced' this type of pattern before and it didn't look very good to me. Any tips? I have wanted to do this pattern for about 3 or 4 years now.
I LOVE the dolphin pattern you picked! I went and looked it up at Mary Maxim and it's beautiful! |

I have never done one in double crochet, But in single crochet ( right side) I work to st before new color, insert hook in the next st and pull up a loop: join new color your and hold the tail at the back of work, yarn around hook and pull though 2 loops of previous color on hook.On ( wrong side keep the strand to the front of work...
I'm getting yarn ready to dye and wasng clothes, haven't been working I
on anything today. I don't think we will have many more nice days to keep the windows open. Want to get this wool done..
I'll check and see if you can do the same thing with the dc. Just maybe ~ work to the st before changing color and wrap around hook, insert hook pull up loop, yarn over and pull though 2 loops , join the next color yarn over pull though 2 loops.. I'll check and see tonight.. |

That's pretty much where I'm at. I thought I'd have my afghan finished in a month or so . . . that was way back in November, and I'm only 1/2 way finished.
It takes not quite an hour to finish . . . 2 rows!
I'd make another one again, as I really like how it looks . . . just not with a "G" hook . . . . maybe a "K" though.
I'd be glad to help though if you need it. Helpful hint . . . . use bobbins! If I'd do ONE thing different, it'd be bobbins.
I used the butterfly wrap bobbins . . . WOW, what a mess. |

Gina ~I work up a small square doing what I said before about changing colors ( I'm doing with Sc) with double crochet turned out fine..
JazzRizz~ I'm doing mine with a K.. best I could do with the gauge...
Gauge is still not right but close enough..
Not going to get to my afghan today. Going to have fun dying some yarn!!!!
