I bet you wondered why I didn't thank you sooner. Sorry - I need to get on here more often. I was just poking around this evening, and came across this thread. Better late than never! I've made some more of these PW shawls in diff. color themes. It's one of my favs cause it's easy and it goes so fast. I'm working on a design right now for a shawl with sleeves - actually, they're just more like cuffs - partial sleeves I guess.
I am looking for a package from Coats And Clark
Fed X is suppose to be delivering it either tomorrow or tuesday.
They emailed me that it was gonna be shipped out at the
end of this past week.
It is a test project
I am getting the yarns and the project to crochet something (don't have a clue as to what it is right now)
and if they like it, I will become a re-stitcher for them
woo-hoo!! you go girl! that sounds exciting!! let us know as soon as you get it. I'll see if I can figure out how to post pics on here.... I've done it before, but I forget how I did it....
That is so cool! How in the world did you get them to offer you that? That is so neat!

I called them and begged
All funnin aside, I kind of did a freelance of myself.
I called and talked to them and ask if I could do crochet for
Coats And Clark. They called back and also emailed me.
What they are wanting me to crochet are baby afghans I think.
From what I understand that a re-stitcher does.......(not sure yet)
They crochet the items and then send them back.
(They send the yarn to do the item in also...I have to send back what's left over).
It is what they take their pictures of that they show in their
pattern leaflettes.... I think. It is prttey much what she explained to me.
I am also a crocheter for Lion Brand now
They send to me whenever they are in need. They said that it might
be a few weeks (or months) between, but I am glad for anything like this,
It helps in the income department believe you me!
Thanks for the well wishes you guys, I am so anxious to see what Coats sends me to do.
I hope they will like my crochet enough to put me to work, LOL!
P.S. I sent in swatches to Lion Brand. I did call them first too and they requested two
different groupings of stitches they wanted me to crochet for them,
done in two 12 inch squares. I did and then sent the squares to them. They accepted them and now
I am waiting on a project to do for them
That's wonderful Kathy I always wondered who did all the crocheting for leaflets and books. I know Katchkan when she submits a pattern to a company they have her do the sample in the colors they want. She always has testers to do her testing too.
Me too Darlene, I had never even thought about that.
If you think about it, someone has to crochet them.
I think they call it a re-stitcher, if I am remembering correctly.
Thanks to Miss Shelle here, she motivated me to get my buns
up and get out there and promote meself
Thank you sooooo much Shelle
I am so excited fer sure
Bless your heart! I'm so happy for you. You are a very talented designer and I know you're going to get published some day. You know I'm here for ya girlfriend. You can do it!
Hello, Kathy --- Thanks for waiting so patiently! I've been watching to see if the warehouses were going to be getting any of the Camouflage Sport Weight
yarn back in --- all of them were completely out, and it wouldn't make any sense to use it if consumers couldn't find it. I'm sending you a leaflet pattern
that features a discontinued yarn, and would like to have it remade in more boyish yarns. There is a swatch done up for you, which you can rip out to
use the yarn, or clip off to refer to.
I know we've told you the project was coming several times, but it often is so busy around here, projects get put off, and we don't even have time
to tell people. I PROMISE it will go out tomorrow to arrive Friday.

I am soooooo anxious to get this, I am about to bust!!!!
Would you believe it, I will be testing for the very first time for me to do........ Clothes, LOL!
Oh my, this will be fun
I have never done clothing before
Oh my, I am anxious about this, but I know I can do it
I know I can, I know I can, I know I can!!
I am starting on it now.
It's their leaflette for children: Striped Hoodie
the original is done in TLC Wiggles. They have sent me sport weight
(green camo, dusty green and black) to do this one in,
and a swatch of what it should look like.
Gonna get to it now and hopefully I will get it done to ship back monday,
they have not requested a time limit on it though.
