I know today isn't Wed but I missed posting the past few weeks saying I'd catch it next Wed so I'm just going to post even though it's Thursday (well...it's after midnight so technically it's Friday! ARGH!)
I just finished up my secret pal and Christmas swaps. Now I need to get back to where I was. I have many wips but I'm choosing to get back to work on my kitty cat graph ghan. See:
I'm also going to be working on my dd's poncho I started almost 3 years ago. Thank God I made it a little extra large plus she doesn't grow as fast now that she is older. I have to have it finished by her birthday in Sept. I made a little mistake somewhere in the last three rounds that I need to figure out because I'm on the wrong side. I don't know what I did wrong!!! My progress so far:
I've also started a Spider Man Afghan for my 11yo nephew's bday. His birthday is coming up in November so I need to get moving on it. I've made an afghan for both his other brothers so I do not want to disappoint him by not having it finished in time for his bday. I've made several of these round ghans so I know I can just sit and crochet this in the evenings after dinner. My progress so far:
And last, but not least, this was supposed to be a mother's day gift for my mom. It's doily #23 from 'The Best of Patricia Kristoffersen'. I want to get it finished ASAP and get it out to her. I will most likely work on this the most right now. My progress so far:
Oh yeah....I have a prayer shawl I started making for dh some time ago....it's real quick and easy to make using hdc's. You know what that spells, right? B...O...R...I...N...G!!!! Our anniversary is in a couple of days so I won't be able to get it done by then BUT his birthday is on the 23rd. I'm a little over half way done with it so I know I can finish is quickly if I set my mind to it! Soooo....I'm gonna just work a little on it each day when he is at work. That way he won't see that I've been working on it and he'll be surprised. He's been asking me when I'm going to finish it...I tell him it's too hot for it right now cause it's summer but he wants it! Sorry...no pic on this one.
So there you have it! My goal is to finish all but the Kitty graph ghan by the end of August. I think I can do it. Do you? |

| Hey Gina. Can you help me with the wip blinkie? I love it and want to put it on my site. I am using I guess the "new" blogger. I don't know how to get graphic links in my side bar. Do you know how to do that?? Thanks honey:) |

Hi Phoenix!
I haven't used blogger in ages so I logged in to my account and made a test blog. Wow! Blogger has changed! They have made it so user friendly!
Ok...this is what you do...
1. From your dashboard, click on Layout. You should see a page that says, 'Add and arrange page elements'
2. Look for a little box that says 'Add a page element' and click on it. You should have a page pop up that says 'Choose a new page element'.
3. Look for 'Picture' and click on the button under it that says 'Add to blog'.
4. You don't need to fill in the Title or Caption unless you want to. When you get to the image part you can either browse your computer for your image or you can add the url to your image to your Photobucket account (or whatever host you use) in the 'From the Web' section. Be sure to select which one you are going to use. I unchecked 'shrink to fit' because I think it will fit without blogger messing with it. It's up to you. It looked the same on mine either way.
5. Then click on 'save changes'.
6. Finally, look at the layout and see where they put your image. You can click and drop and drag the picture box to put it where you want it.
I hope these directions are easy for you to understand. If you need help just hollar! |

| Bless your heart Gina thanks:) I can't figure out how to link to the picture though, to make the picture clickable. May be you just can't do that on the new one. |

Here's what you can do to make it easier for you....
Right click on the blinkie and save it to your hard drive. Remember what folder you are putting it into now.
When you get to step 4 in the directions above click on the browse button. Look in the folder where you put the blinkie and select the blinkie and click open. Blogger will upload it and you will see it on the screen. Then click 'save changes'.
Then continue with the directions above from step 6.
Good luck! |

Thanks Gina:) I can get the blinkie there I just can't get it to click to the site. Oh well may be this one won't do that. Thanks for your help:)
Let's eee what are my wips? Still have the Christmas tree skirt in the works. I am working on my book marks and then I started an afgan stitch tote. I found the pattern in Crochet Today from April/May. I made a beaded bracelet today for my daughter. That was fun to work up. I love things that are fast:) Oh I am doing a couple of knitted scarfs and working on some charity blocks. So that is it for me now. |

Ok, I'm starting to feel like I'm standing still on my projects!!! It feels like it's been FOREVER since I've managed to complete a project.
On the HOOK/NEEDLES right now are:
Crochet:
Sweetheart Ripple Babyghan (on the last skein) - 2/3 finished (Way behind - she had the baby on 7/28!)
Graphghan for Dad - 2/3 finished (haven't picked it up in months though)
Pinwheel Afghan . . . It's in hibernation right now.
Knit:
MS3 - Clue 4 of 7 finished . . . last clue comes out 8/24/07.
Pomtomaus Socks - 1 sock finished / 2nd sock (on the foot).
Great American Aran Afghan - Just got the book from Ebay . . . the cables are just calling out to me!!!
UGH, I'm usually a 1-2 project kind of gal!!! What's wrong with me?? I NEVER have this many WIPS going at the same time. |

Peggy...I'm so sorry! I meant to mention that you couldn't link. No biggie though.
You sound pretty busy though! I can't wait to see your tree skirt and I'm looking forward to seeing what you made for the bookmark swap. The afghan stitch tote sounds very interesting.
Tara...You're beginning to sound like me! I have always said I have Crochet ADD. I'm always starting a new project without finishing the last one because the pattern looks neat. You better watch out or you will end up making this into a habit!
My WIP's...Not much progress made for me. I started working on the Spiderman afghan (I did 2 rounds) but came to a color change (1 row of black) and my black is missing! I dread getting started on that poncho because it's going to take a few rows of frogging and figuring out where I was right last. I haven't even begun the doily because I wanted to work on the bookmarks for the swap. And finally....the kitty graph ghan...I'm dreading that because my bobbins are all tangled! Yikes!

Well.....we started school this week and it's always rough settling into a routine at first so I have not had a chance to crochet at all. Ugh! Can you say crochet withdrawal!!!! I haven't even worked on my bookmarks for the swap and I only have two more to make!
I will most definitely have more progress next Wed. At least I found my black yarn so I can continue the Spider Man afghan.
How'd everyone else do this week? Better than I did, I'm sure!
I'm gonna have to crack that ol' whip at myself!
On the bright side.....I still have around 2 weeks left to work on my things. I hope to meet my monthly goal at least! |
