I loooove this sweater! Here is what I have done so far:
I stopped to finish something else I have had going for at least a year and a half now.
I don't know how to put a link in still (sigh). It's from Interweave Knits. Here is the url to the page where you can buy the pattern: http://shop.interweave.com/store/...k-Hoodie-P204C0.aspx?src=KE121407

I've wanted to get this pattern for a while now, but I've put it off.
I've just got too many things I want to do as it is . . . maybe one of these days.
What yarn are you using? |

| I bought the pattern when they came out with the plus sizes but have yet to decide on a yarn.. or even have time to think about it but I do have a goal of making it this year lol so that gives me a year. |

I'm embarrassed to say, but.... Red Heart Super Saver. I figure, though; if I make it and it turns out nice, I will buy some Tahki Donegal Tweed. I just don't know if it will make me itch like crazy or not... Maybe I can find a substitute that isn't wool...
I love hoodies.
Kari, if you do buy yarn, it is just a worsted weight yarn. Took me a while to figure that out (duh).... if you can find a substitute that is just worsted weight, that would probably work just as well as the Tahki yarn would...

Tina, don't be embarrassed about using RH.....
Just because it's not $10 a skein doesn't mean that it's bad.......
Mind you, it's not the softest in the world but still...why pay $50 to make a sweater?? |

Thanks Lisa. I am going to get to work on it as soon as my shrug is done. (And not take as long to finish it as I did my shrug!) |

| NEVER be embarrassed about what yarn you use. Use what you have or what you want. Plain and simple... |

Really, don't be ashamed about what your using.
IF I ever end up ordering it, I'm planning on using Simply Soft. I'm a wash & dry kind of gal . . . I really don't want a sweater that I can't toss in the washer/dryer.
I've got Cascade 220 that I bought to make Rogue out of. It's still in the box. I just can't seem to make myself knit the blasted thing, even though I really want that sweater.
I think that's why I like this pattern. I'd rather have a cardigan vs. sweater. |

| RH is what I usually use because it is what I can afford. Once I wash it up it gets softer (still not as soft as some of the expensive stuff, but soft enough for me.) |

Thank you, everyone.
Maybe I just read too many 'yarn snob' blogs, or something.... Red Heart is all we can afford, too. I worked on it some more last night, and I am loving it so far. I will try and get a picture of the progress. I got two cables done.
Close-up of cables:
I love this place (Crochet Mania)!

Red heart can be just as good as another other yarn. Plus when you can only go to limited places that carry yarn, or spend limited amounts of money on yarn, red heart looks pretty darned good. LOL
I am a wash and wear kind of gal myself. I hate babying laundry.
I'm a redneck yarny. If it's too fancy or expensive I am afraid to use it! |
