Depends on what the pattern calls for..
Most socks are fingerweight or sock yarn..

| I crocheted a bunch of pairs using Kroy sock yarn, 75% wool,25% acrylic or nylon. Anywho they are machine wash and dry. They turned out good and I can wear them with shoes. |

| I paid 4.99 for the Kroy once. Then it was on sale at HL, but I saw it I think at either Herrschners or Annie's attice for less than 4.00. That is a good price. It takes two skeins of the Kroy for a pair. Lion brand only takes one. I made one pair out of that, it is not a soft or stretchy, but still can wear with shoes. HL regualr price for it was 9.99. So shop around and make sure it can be washed and dried, cause I don't know about most people, but I don't think hand washing is fun! |

What would I have to do dif if I use the needles instead
of the circ's ? |
Yep.
Just divide the stitches over the 3 or 4 needles.. |

You divided equally.. Untill you come to the heel.. Then you might want to change them..
