Okay lets start thinking of what you want to do.
Remember you have between the Opening (8-8-08) and closing(8-24-08) ceremonies to complete your project..{ 16 days}
The Concept: You must cast or chain on a project during the Opening Ceremonies and finish before the Olympic flame goes out.
Rules:
1. The project must be a challenge for you to complete.
2. There are no rules about what a challenge would be. Like the real Olympics, there are many areas to compete in. Use your own conscience.
3. While this is intended to be somewhat difficult (like the Olympics) it is not intended to ruin your life. Don't set yourself up for failure. (Olympic athletes may cry, but they do not whine pitifully, sob and threaten members of their family with pointed sticks or hooks because they haven't slept in five days. ) This is intended to (like the Olympics) require some measure of sacrifice, and be difficult, but it should be possible to attain.
4. No casting or chaining on before the flame is lit.
5. Finish before the flame goes out.
6. You may swatch before the games. (I consider this "training.")
These are the rules we followed before..
The teams were like our groups of our Show N' Tell.
Wearables
Children and Babies ETC.....
Medals:
Gold: Project is 100% complete
Silver: Project is 95-99% complete
Bronze: Project is 90-94% complete
Honorable Mention: Project is 80-89% complete
Percent completion is to be determined by yourself on the honor system.

OK! I'm in with Clapotis. I'll be using SWTC Bamboo in Chocolate.
I've been meaning to make this for that past couple of years. Granted, it's not a taxing pattern . . . which makes it that much more of a challenge to me. Miles of stockinette . . . it's going to take a lot of willpower to stick with this one, I'm afraid.
Miss Kitty . . . . LOVE that scarf pattern. It has my favorite sock pattern stitch in it (River Rapids) with a couple of extra purls thrown in.
Tamking . . . I love the top, but what sock pattern are you considering? |

Hmmm, I was just thinking...I know..dangerous!! I want to make a ghan for my cousin who is getting married 8-8-08 (ok, so it will be late)....will that count?
What I want to do is take some squares I already have, join them and make a thick border around the outside. What do you think? Is that 'new' enough? Or do I have to start from scratch? |

| I'm thinking it would be a good time to finish a couple of large WIP's or I'll make a bunch of stuff for the school. I haven't decided yet. |

It will be a challenge because I do have other things that I have to get done as well that I'm in the middle of. It will give me an excuse to do it......phew |

I just got the book "Getting Started Knitting Socks" and will probably be using one of the patterns in there. If I can decide which one. |
