Yeah, I think I was thinking the same thing you were thinking, Jodi. I do knit, and I don't know what it means, either. Hmmm.... Did you try going to knitting pattern central maybe? I found this page of abbreviations there, but I don't think it is any help it doesn't have WF, only wyif (with yarn in front). Here it is:http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-glossary |

| Boy, that must be an old pattern. Haven't seen wool instead of yarn for along time..Some of the hand written patterns Great-Gandmother's used to be like that.. |

wyif- with yarn in front- as if to purl.. Way back when they only knitted with wool or cotton. Wool Forward. There was Wool and Thread ( cotton).
