I heard today that Tuesday Morning has a craft section and you can find yarn there sometimes.  I have seen yarn now that you mention it at Big Lots and the Dollar Tree.

The only yarn I've seen at Big Lots and the dollar stores is the textured stuff.
Same with Tuesday Morning.

I have seen the ribbon yarns and fun fur there.  I saw some Lion Suede there once. I am really glad the fun fur craze has kinda passed on!

I bought all of my Jewel Box and Cozi Caron yarns there at Big Lots back a couple of years ago.

Yeah on the fur stuff, I have sooooo much of the stuff I haven't a clue as to what to do with it all.
I still get a call now and then for slippers made with the FanPel yarn and that's about it.

I've been comparing cotton threads and yarns at Herrschners and Knitting Warehouse, and then I found this site:

http://creativeyarnsource.com/omega_yarn.html

Anyone use any of these?  I'm hoping that the only one that splits is Sinfonia.  I like the look of Sinfonia, but find it tricky to work with.

Serena, I have not used any of those except Sinfonia.  For thread, DMC Cebelia, is a good thread with lots of colors.

TXCL,  I do like Cebelia.  I've just been in the mood for something new.

Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, Michael's, JoAnn's, Garage Sales, Ebay, and Dollar Store ...but I haven't bought yarn for a very long time because I have WAY too much!  I ended up with so much from buying a lot of clearnace yarns various places over the years and also when Wal-Mart reduced their stock, I bought lots of Simply Soft yarn on clearance then.  I've been doing my best to stash-bust and clear out as much as I can.

Yes, I bought way too much of that stuff too and now I don't know what in the world to do with it!  LOL --- It wasn't what it was cracked up to be!

It would be good to use in a double strand afghan.
Just the hdc all the way. It does make some soft ghans.

I have a lot of the stuff too. I mostly have the FanPel and I love it!
It feels so much better than the Lion Brand and some of the others I have felt.

And maybe you can use a tad of it in a purse or maybe a throw pillow.

Good idea!  I was had used some of it trimming slippers and stuff but that just doesn't use enough to make a dent in my stash.  I think I'll do that and make an scrap type afghan using it with some of my worsted weight scraps with it and see what I come up with.  I was just cleaning out a yarn basket last night and trying to sort out all my scrap yarn balls and thinking about starting a scrap project.  I have to force myself to finish these two other project I have started first though.  I start to get stressed out if I have too many unfinished projects at one time.
