TXCrochetLover, your doily is so pretty.
Yes, he ate the whole pansy. I took it away from him and put it on the table in here, and I saw him get up on the table and get it and eat the whole thing.

TXCL, your doily is exquisite. It's quite a joy to look at.
MwaM, have you got all the other pansies hidden away now?
I don't know if I'll start up another coaster soon. I'm in the mood for easy and what I already now. Too much else is challenging in life these days.
I did discover I could do something in the round, and that the JP Coats Royale works just fine. |

My husband took the kids somewhere today and I got some (much needed) peace and quiet, and time to work on my doily. I'm on the edging. All the pansies are joined. If he eats them now, he will be in BIG trouble.

Thanks for the encouragement on the doily. I really like working with thread.
Yea Tina! Glad you were able to work on it. I know how you feel about needing some peace and quiet. Of course you are dealing with grief not just the day to day noise of the kids being at home. I am already tired of the kids being off school, plus Dh is here. I go to my room, but there is no door, so it's not the same as nobody being home but me. |

TXCrochetLover, I don't know if you knew but I homeschool my kids, too. I don't get a break very often. So it was nice having two whole hours to myself.
I finished the edging last night, and blocked it this morning.
And a kind of sideview to see the pansies a little better.
I can't believe it is done. Now I want to make another doily. I used to love making them; but got away from it for a long time.
(P.S. Even when they are home you can still hear them, too. I know what you mean.... It isn't the same as absolute peace and quiet.) :)

TXCL, am sending you peaceful thoughts.
The older I get, the more I understand how daring the thought was for a woman to have a room of her own.
My mother's long-awaited sewing room is her refuge, and very dear.
MwaM, your pansies are beautiful. And they do look scrumptious. I'm not surprised your dog thought they looked edible.
I agree with you both, whenever anyone is around, even if they are quiet and I love them very much, it just isn't the same as not feeling anyone else's presence. |

Oh Tina, the doily is beautiful! That takes a lot of work to join all those pieces. WTG!
I think in the back of my mind I knew you homeschooled, but it got lost back there! |

I sent it to my Mom. She got it yesterday. Called me today to say thanks, and guess what? She has one exactly like it already. But the one she has is bigger. She said she thought I made it for her. I said, 'No, I'm almost positive I would remember putting all those pansies on one I did before.' Oh well. Now she can have a matching set. :P

How nice to have a matching set! I've given my mother things before that were almost duplicates of things I'd given her before.
Hmmm, wonder where she got that other doily.
Your pansies are beautiful! |

Three of my aunts (her sisters) crochet. She also will buy things at garage sales or resale stores that are crocheted.

I am glad you one you made got there ok, and she liked it. Yeah, I am pretty sure you would remember sewing all those pansies on if you had made the other one, too!
