Suzee, your packages arrived today.

The only thing harder than waiting is knowing what to send.

Hmmm.....

Three days until the 11th!

What is harder than waiting is seeing the package sitting on the table and knowing you can't open it yet! LOL!  Anticipation!  This is really a fun way to do a swap!

Each time I walk by those packages, I'm tempted.

It'll be fun on Saturday.

I found a nice little Pyrex dish at a thrift store yesterday.  It's got handles, which makes it perfect for baked custard.  I'm never quite sure how to get those dishes out of the water bath.  Don't know that I want to use the oven, so stove top custard or yoghurt may have to suffice.

I'm saving cherries for Saturday.

I do like the small decisions in life....

Aren't you fancy, pitting the cherries!

I've just realized that we didn't decide which time zone for noon.

How about posting any time after NOON Greenwich Mean Time?

What do you think?

It's Ice Cream Social Day!  And it's just after Noon in Greenwich.

Am drinking tea and have just opened two very friendly packages from Suzee.

There is some high-tech convolutedness and Suzee can't get onto Crochet Mania.

Will post more soon!

Mmmmm, Dr. Pepper counts as Ice Cream Social food.

I'm at the library and popping in to say "Hi!".

Suzee sent me the most beautiful things she made:  placemats both large and small.  Perfect for my tea time trays.  Coasters in flowery splendor, and lovely pieces that look like wall hangings to me, of a steaming cup on a saucer.

She sent a journal that will fit nicely in a handbag.  It has a lovely ribbon bookmark.  I'm fond of ribbons and it'll come in so handy.

The cotton yarn she sent is perfect for my summer projects.  I brought the lavender skein to the library for the crochet group and started a hot pad.  Wonderful for a To-Go project.

Suzee,  thank you for you beautiful gifts and happy greetings.  Your kind thoughts and care in sending me such cheery things is dear and heartwarming!

I'm smiling away while typing here at the library.

I've got some family things to attend to, and will post this evening.

A very big thank-you, Suzee!

Well, I opened my package from Serena a little bit ago and I am overwhelmed with the thoughts that went into my swap items!
I received:
the box pic I removed as you could see the sender's addy and I didn't know if that was ok or not.  Sorry.

Then I opened the card:

Then on to all these goodies:

OK, now for the listing of all the wonderful items in my package:
Size 4 circular vintage knitting needles- the cable is stainless steel!
Size 8 and size 10 circular needles
Vintage stitch markers.
Serena says these items were from a neighbor of her mom's. Mrs. Stevens would be close to one hundred years old now!  So, you know these supplies were well loved.

I received two baggies of tea, one Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger, which I love and a new one to me called Typhoo from an East Indian import shop Serena found.

Serena made me some cream cheese coasters and a lovely neapolitan dishcloth from cotton!  Very creative on the coasters!

I'm not done yet!  She also sent me 6 balls of DMC Cebelia size 20 in ecru! I better get busy looking for a big project for this.  They are all the same dye lot, so yea!  I received a ball of Aunt Lydia's Size 10 thread in Light Peach, a partial cone of Spring Meadows(my neapolitan color! LOL!) cotton, 1 ball of Peaches and Creme Orange Sherbet and 1 ball of P&C Gumdrop cotton.
I hope I didn't forget anything!  After all this I will need my cherry smoothies!

Thank you so very much Serena for the thoughtful card and all the wonderful items you included in my swap package!!!!!!!!!!!! All these supplies are so nice and I can't believe how generous you are!!

I've been thinking Ice Cream Social thoughts and sending you all happy wishes all day!

TXCL, thank you for the kind words and thoughts.  I'm always so impressed with your photos, too.

I hope you've all had a lovely ice cream day.

It's a very special one to me.

Sending you all best wishes and dear thanks for making this such a heartwarming swap!

I'm all ready for the next one now!

Yes, I think this was one fun swap!  Yesterday instead of doing my chores, I spent it looking up thread projects to start! LOL!  I have more ideas than time it seems!
I hope Suzee was able to enjoy her package, since she is unable to get on the net, we will  get to celebrate again when she is!
I made a cherry cobbler yesterday to use up all those cherries I pitted.  It was one I got off the All Recipes site.  It was ok, but I wouldn't use it again.  But I am going to run to Kroger and get some more cherries.  I saw a hint on how to pit them by using a straw.  I'll try that and if it works tell everyone about it!

Cherry cobbler sounds scrumptious!  I hope the straw works well for pitting.  I often use frozen cherries because they are so easy.  Do you use oatmeal for the crumbly topping or just flour?

I hope Suzee will be able to get on CM soon.

I've been looking at the lovely things she made and planning how to use them.

Have started two potholders with some of the cotton yarn she sent.

I received an email from Suzee.  She is still having trouble getting on to the Mania.  APparently hger PC doesn't like us! LOL!  Anyway, I am cutting and pasting her email here to help complete the swap thread.

"Well, things never go the way you plan, do they? I spent Friday night, from 10 PM until Saturday at 4 PM, in the emeregencya nd then in the ICU with chest Pains, neck pain and arm pain. Have to make an appointment to take stress test ASAP. Otherwise, doc thinks I'm doing okay. I wanted to thank TX for the wonderful box of goodies. The pie cloth is, I've decided, apple pie. :) The doily is lovely and is under my lamp on my dresser here. Since I am progressing as a knitter, I will definitely use the stitch markers. (Okay...I'll be using them for crochet, too.) The pad of paper is right here, now, at the computer. The yarn colors AND the yarn are yummy. :) I have not worked with the senso cotton and am looking forward to it. I definitely see the difference between the "I Love This Cotton" yarn and the Sugar and Cream...but, I like both of them. The Wool Ease is lovely and will make a nice mix with the Vanna's choice. The little labels are great! And, the recipe sounds very good. I will try it this week. :) Serena...I am so glad you liked the things that were sent. I never know quite what to put in a package. I hope you will find them useful and enjoyable. You are so sweet to have done this exchange. :) Both of you take care and just to let you know...I still cannot get onto the Mania. Best wishes and warm hugs! Suzee"

Sending prayers for good health and a good report on the stress test.

Hugs to both of you for making this such a fun swap!
