I'm up for that in August. Hopefully we can get a group that wants to do these smaller things because it is so hot! I'd say let's see what interest there is before a decision about useful or decorative. I also think the cost should be minimal, like let's just make the potholders and not include extras that may drive the shipping costs up. Shipping alone is not anything to sneeze at these days. If we keep it just potholders, maybe we could do a round robin thing where everyone gets more than one. And the cost would be small.
Anybody agree with that idea?

There are some really nifty small padded envelopes that are VERY inexpensive to mail.
(Crossing fingers. I've been having good luck since yesterday with the Internet. ) |

TXCL, sounds good to me.
I've been thinking of making my own padded envelopes out of bubble wrap and paper grocery bags.
Suzee, I'm glad the computer is letting you on! |

Sounds good that way to me Selena. I have the yarn, it's just the postage and packaging that keep me from saying yes. I can do it if we just need to send the item by it's self. |

Ok, I like this idea! How about sign ups begin this week and then end by the 27th? That way lots of people that don't sign on everyday will get a chance to see it and then the swap can be completed before folks with kids that go to public schools have to start getting things ready for fall.
Who wants to lead this swap? |

| I'm signing up. I'd rather not lead this one as I just did the last one. |

Okay...Things are still a little higgledy piggledy around here, but I'm willing to have a go at it. Now... ... Where does one learn how to host? |

Suzee, hosting is pretty much a by the seat of your pants thing!
You know, somebody talked about a marketbag swap too a while back.
But I am happy to be doing the potholder one, I need to get on my thinking cap!
