Hey just an FYI. I started the checkered flag square, using the G hook as stated, my gauge was way too big. My square(kick me, I didn't check it until I had it halfway done) was 9 1/4 inches wide with the G hook. So, I have now switched to an F hook to get the width to approx. 8 3/4 inches as the pattern states. I do like working with the bobbins for the color change, it is kinda fun.

I thought that we could use any color for the race cars and use the colors of the flags to make some solid colors instead of all checkered.
What do you guys think??
Flags of Nascar..
Green, Yellow, Red, Black, White. Checkered( black and White), Black with white cross, Blue with yellow stripe |\|, and
Yellow with Red vertical stripes |

| I like the colored squares to mix in with the checkered flags and the road squares. I finished a road square. The size will be slightly bigger because I am using ILTY instead of Caron SS. My road square ended up at about 9 1/4 inches. |

| That is a good question. This afghan is more for boys. What about girls? Colors are good. |

| I like the girlie color for cars for girls, that will make it easier on us. We need to have a goal of how many blankets we think we can make as a group and when we want to complete our project. We can just do squares and a couple of people can assemble( I can help assemble). So, what do you think, VJ gang? |

| My total today is one checkered flag square and one road square without the car! I am working on another road square, then will work a checkered flag. I have not made any colored squares yet. Is there a consensus on the pattern for those yet? |
