OK, I agree with that for the color ones. I'll work on alternating some colors in the next round! I got half of a checkered one done last night. I'll finish it then try a color one.

I have finished some more squares. I started on my third red square using the count for the checkered flag square. I just do a little when I am tired of studying or knitting. One reason is I don't have to concentrate as hard! How is everyone else doing?

How is everyone doing with the squares? I just now found this thread.
Are you all making anything in the way of squares other than the race cars and flags?
Kathy, Miss Kitty sent us the pattern we are all making for the squares. You may want to go back and look starting at page two to see what exactly is going on. We are all making the same squares using the idea from Nascar colors, and the pattern.

Ahhh, I saw the flags and the checks (black or white).
I have some I Love This Yarn, would that do for the squares?
I have both girl and boy colors. I have some white TLC that I could do some white ones.
Is it just your basic granny square pattern? Tell me what colors you need
and I will make a few.
I also have some yellow over here too.
We haven't gotten that far Kathy. So far, I have just been making them. I figure to call for them later to give everyone time to get a bunch made. We don't really have a deadline yet. The camps start in the summer, so I want to be able to get some sent before then. Right now, I am just making some as I go along and I think everyone else is too. But please make as many as you want! The checkered flag ones are easy just a lot of loose ends to weave in.

I won't put the rush on then. I have to go and get some of the black yarn and a couple of the car colors...maybe for girls, and a color for boys.
I have the baby afghan to finish up on and an order in for some scrubbies
and a couple of potholders and hotpads to make.
I can get started on these probably in a week or two.
I am going to be using the "I Love This Yarn", that seems to be the only soft acrylic worsted that I have here in Bowling Green that I can get now. Our WalMarts are closing out their yarns and our Hobby Lobby is going mainly to just their yarns.
I am using a mix of ILTY and Red Heart. I am doing the checkered flag and the road ones in ILTY and the colored squares in RH. The only reason I am not using RH on the checkered ones is because HL didn't have any black RH the day I went in! LOL!

I know what you mean on HL not having what you go after. Mine is out of the white. They say that their warehouse is out and it could be 6 weeks or better before they get it.
I found some online and bought it last night...at the same price as HL and the shipping was free for $25.00 and above purchase.
