My DH's boss is expecting a baby boy in August. His wife is from Thailand, and has only been here since October.
I would really like to make a blanket that would reminder her of her homeland, but I have no idea where to start looking.
Any suggestions (free or not) would be greatly appreciated!!
Knit or Crochet . . . either one.

Tell me about it! I'm pretty adept at finding things on the web, but this has totally stumped me.
I don't have tons of time to make this, so I'm trying to figure out what to make. I just don't want a standard issue baby blanket.
This link has kind of inspired me . . . just not sure how to go about getting this look. |

| Have you seen Mosaic Magic by Lily Chin ? It won't be exactly like the picture you have posted but it will give you the patterned looked. |

No, I have not . . . I found it on Ebay though, and placed a bid.
The cover looks promising . . . and I love collecting afghan pattern books!
Thanks for the suggestion! |

Oh wow, that is beautiful fabric Tara, maybe tapestry crochet? You'd have to
chart it out. |

You are welcome, I love all the techniques in there. For me some of the directions were a little confusing so if you get stuck just holler :)

Yes I did. I really like the book. There is a pattern that would've worked for this, but I ended up making the Sweetheart Ripple for this baby boy.
I'm definitely going to try one of the patterns in this book though . . . one of these days.
