I would like to find some type of crochet Christmas pin or Christmas ornament for 30 ladies in my craft group. I would also like to find a Christmas ornament to exchange with just one person, this one could be a little more fancy.

ps. go easy on this poor girl I did say 30 ladies + one more and I still have one more week to go with stitches in my hand.

Snowflakes are the prettiest and easiest I think. Plus, there are so many different patterns out there that you can make a different one for each lady. There are plenty out there for worsted weight yarns if you don't want to use thread too.

Thanks Trish! I thought of Snowflakes but a lot of them have those darn "picot" stitches and they are not my favorite stitch to do. The list posted surely should have something with out picots!

Here's a few links I came up with for pins . . . I might have to make a few of these myself.

I found a pretty heart ornament here:

You could put a pin back on it instead of a hanger.

Are you looking for thread or yarn ornaments?
I have an angel pattern that has 5 different ones and can be done in either. I do them in the white simply soft yarn and then add the Christmas colors to the wings. You could do them in thread and starch them too.

I know I saw them online somewhere. I'll look for it and see what I can find tonight.

They are very simple and pretty.

http://crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/christmas_ornaments.php there is a ton of cool patterns in here, a little christmas light done in shiny yarn would be darling and wouldn't take much at all, if your making these into pins is even better cause you don't have to do it 3d you could just make them flat. let me know what you decide alright? also for the one ornament, what i often do is i will take a shiny glass ball, and crochet around it using size 10 thread. sometimes with the sparkly stuff sometimes just white or a reg color, then i get those long strands of fake pearls you can buy for around 3.00 at the craft store, then i measure how long i want the loop to be then i hot glue it all around the ball usually will have around 6 to 8 loops, then i take ribbon roses and glue them on and they are just beautiful, i have a pic of one somewhere will see if i can find it, its super easy to make too/ good luck hon
