Our knitting section seems to be at a stand still Where are the knitters or knitter to be ~~ lets get something going here. Give us some ideas what you would like or what you are doing?
Lacy things for summer, baby things, I am going to make myself a couple tank tops (one of these days-I get sidetracked so easily tho )
and remember to invite your other friends to our group if they do crafts, crochet or knit. If they like friendly, big hearted, no drama people they are

| I'm one of the knitters or wanna be knitters. I have 3 knitting projects started but can't seem to finish them. I haven't done much fibery stuff lately. Not sure what's wrong with me. |

I'm here, just been working on crochet doilies for the doily swap.
I do have a pair of Monkey Socks on the needles.
My next project in planning is a shawl with my Sea Silk. I've drooled from afar long enough. It's time to make something with this gorgeous yarn.
Maybe ya'll would be interested in doing a lace KAL?? Or maybe a sock KAL? I work on those anytime I'm in the car for more than 10 minutes. |

I'm here!! I've been so busy lately that I hadn't even been knitting, but I've gotten the chance to make that up. I'm free most of next week and I can't wait to get back to my knitting!! |

I have been working on a project that got put onto the back burner because of work, etc.
I'm working on a cardigan pattern that I got from Knitpicks 2 years ago. The Sweet Mary Jane cardi, which is knit with lace weight merino.
I've finished the body up to the bodice, I have to knit the sleeves and then knit them onto the bodice. I'm about 1/2 done with the first sleeve. I can't wait to finish this so I can wear it!!! It's gorgeous! |

| I really wanna learn how to knit, but I guess I need motivation and guidance. First of all...what is your favorite/best way to cast on. I hear of so many different ways it makes my head spin! |

I usually use the long-tail method. Here's a link that I used ALOT when I was learning how to knit. Knitting Video
I would recommend bigger needles and a worsted to bulky yarn to learn the stitches. I can't "throw" yarn to save my life. Knitting finally clicked when I tried the "Continental" method. It's what my crochet trained brain could comprehend. My biggest problem was dropped stitches. . . but it does get easier the more you practice.
I didn't know anyone IRL who knits, so I had to learn by trial & error . . . A LOT of errors .
Now, I can't put it down. I always have a sock in progress. I just finished a beautiful lace project (that needs blocked yet), and I'll be starting another Mystery KAL at the end of the month Secret of the Stole.
Good luck! We'll be here cheering you on & here to help if you need it. |

I have a scarf WIP that I put on a few rows every night when I take my meds.
After I get this Longhorn blanket done, I'm going to start some socks..
I always have something on the needles..
I want to make a scarf, pair of socks and if I have enough fingerless gloves with the same yarn.. |

I'm so glad you're back at home recovering Marsha. I hope you start feeling better soon. Hopefully you'll be up to teaching your knitting class soon.
My current projects on the needles are:
Slip Stitch Rib Socks (from Sensational Socks) - Travel Project
Woodland Shawl (in Sea Silk)
Mystic Light KAL - which starts tomorrow
and a dish cloth.
