I just wanted to get an idea of the number of people who have tried thread or use it on a regular basis. So, please vote and feel free to post responses as well!

Yup, I have tried it before.
I love how things look made from thread, but I have to say that the stuff just frustrates me so much that I will pick it up, work on a project with it maybe once a year, then down it goes again to wait til the next time.

I just love how things look in it, but I am NOT one for working with it much at all

Until two years ago I had always done yarn crochet. Then when I joined all of the forums and saw the beautiful doilies I wanted to learn thread too. I have been addicted ever since. It was quite a learning experience but one I am grateul for.

My answer's not up there.

It really makes my hands hurt, so I can't use it as often as I would if I could crochet without the pain.

So . . . my answer would be . . . . I like it occasionally.

I love thread crochet and I aspire to make a huge doily one day. I have a book that has some really lovely textured doilies but I can't remember who the designer is at the moment. I have my doily all picked out! I started one for my mom but I haven't gotten very far.

Sometimes I like to work with thread and I'll make a doily or 2, then I'm done with it for a while. It's been a year or so since I've used any.

WEll, I bought some thread and thought I'd try it. I actually liked it. Enough that I'm thinking of actually making a doily sometime soon...imagine that!!!

Go Lisa!!!

I love thread. I usually have one thread project and several yarn projects on my WIP list. When I need a break from a yarn project I'll switch to thread.

I learned using thread (it's what my grandma accidently left behind). Someone told me that if you learn with thread , there isn't anything you CAN'T do in crochet.
