I love doing things for charity and now that I've expanded my abilities a bit (and am looking to expand them more) I would like to be able to contribute to some EU charities.
From asking around here, surprisingly, Church charities aren't "done". This struck me as odd. I was told to take my stuff to what is very much like a recycling drop container. Well, no. I won't be doing that because it sits outside and is quite damp.
So, looking for direct contact points. I could ship to the States I s'pose but there's the potential for rather long delays and getting hung up in Customs.
Thanks in advance for ideas or input.

Hi
I'm from the UK, I crochet for this charity http://cuddles-uk.org/, it's for stillborn and premature babies. We make tiny gowns, wraps and blankets. There's a yahoo group you can join too. It's a very worth while cause. take a look and see what you think. There's also a post about it on mu blog, address in my signature line :D |

Thank you, Lynn. That sounds just perfect. I have quite a lot of small amounts of yarns that would be just perfect for such a thing.
I'll have a look at your blog as well.
Thanks so! |

No Oxfam. It's been most odd trying to find places to donate around here. Seems to be no call for it or, if there is, it's done quietly...or something. Animal shelter is something I'm trying to get TTS (husband) to check into as my German isn't up to snuff, nor is my hearing, heh. Getting him to follow through on things like that is an exercise in patience so it could be awhile.
I'l continue to crank things out as the spirit occurs and if/when I find a good place, I'll be all set. |

Well my only other suggestion would be to contact the Salvation Army and ask them if they have things they would be grateful for to help the needy they are world wide.My German is very rusty as i learned in school but i love to hear it spoken the same with Italian as i can understand quite a bit i just haven't had the opertunity to practice speaking. I love languages. Anyway i digress pehaps you could make things and sell them at a car boot sale.
