I don't really get these instructions. If I do one hdc ch 1 twice and then a hdc ch1 hdc I end up with more than 44. What is your take on this? Thanks.
Row 7: Ch 3 (counts as hdc, ch 1), * [hdc in next ch-1
space, ch 1] twice **, (hdc, ch 1, hdc) all in next ch-1
space, ch 1; repeat from * to last st, end at **; hdc in top of
ch-3; turn – 44 hdc.

Can't really tell cause I don't know how many spaces and hdc you had in the last row, but sound like you - ch3 (hdc,ch1), hdc, ch1,then hdc, ch1 in the next ch1 space, then you have 2 hdc and ch1 in every ch1 space after that until the end of the row then you do the hdc, ch1, hdc, ch1 in the last 2 spaces..

Well, I am on row 5 and I am finding that I am not getting it.
It says:
Row 5: Ch 4, skip first 2 dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next
dc; repeat from * to last st; dc in top of ch-3; turn – 34 dc.
What isn't making sense to me is this....
Ch 4, skip first 2 dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1,
This gives you (dc, ch 1 sp, skip 2dc, dc in next dc)
and at the end (at the end of ch 1, skip next dc, dc in top of ch-3)
The beginning of this row doesn't match the end of this row
You are not skipping 2 dc at the end of row |

Nah, just give's me something to do this afternoon that's fun
I enjoy helping
Here you go:
Row 7:
(Beginning st's)
Ch 3 (counts as hdc, ch 1),
* [hdc in next ch-1
space,
ch 1] twice *
(Do this accross)...
* (hdc, ch 1, hdc) all in next ch-1
space,
ch 1; repeat from * to last st,
(Ending st's)
to last st, end at **;
* [hdc in next ch-1
space,
ch 1] twice **
hdc in top of
ch-3; turn – 44 hdc
I am working this row now
I just did this for row 5 and the count comes out right:
Ch 4, (counts as first dc and first ch 1 sp)
sk next dc,
*dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next dc* accross,
dc in last dc (which is a ch 3)
Total of 34 dc and 33 ch 1 sp
