I'm starting to knit hats and socks for babies.
Still don't know if I should include mittens?? I haven't found a pattern I like and do you really use them?
Started a hat yesterday afternoon and finishing it up today. Then I can start the socks... |

Our meetup group sends the baby things down to the family shelters in Austin and the local hospitals..
I was thinking of doing some prayer shawls, too.
At the meetup group~ Knitting and crocheting hats, scarves, booties, socks for charity. We serve the homeless, cancer patients, hospice patients and many other worthy causes.
Thanks Kathy, I'll make the pattern up and see what they will look like with sock yarn..add on a few stitches.. |

Miss Kitty, I made up a newborn size mitten pattern if you are interested. They go pretty fast, easy too. (My brain can't handle too much sometimes..) They are crocheted, though. I don't remember if you were knitting them or crocheting them... The mittens are at my pattern blog: Quick & Cozy Thumbles Mitts: http://tinascrochetpage.blogspot....cozy-newborn-thumbless-mitts.html
I am working on toys. I posted a couple I did in the Childrens section, under 'Toys for UC Davis'. I am sending them to someone who is a yahoo group I am in, and she'll take them up to the hospital for kids who are undergoing chemo treatments and such for cancer. I am working on another teddy bear now, to send; too. (Stripey bear.)

I am making little bags for a kids camp in June started by a lady in Denton TX. I posted about that. That is why I am doing those amulet bags.
Also made some hats for the Head Huggers group and turned them in yesterday at the DFW Fiber Fest. |

I took a picture of all the toys I made for UC Davis:
The little bags sound cute, txcrochetlover. I like making hats, too. I make those when the weather gets cooler, for Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (plus scarves and/or mittens, too). I should make them all now, so I can just send them when the weather is cooler, eh?

There are so many in need, we are just lucky to be able to give what we can.
